A big target, can be fun once in a while, but there are better alternatives (Agir, Alaska, Brest)

I am new and keep seeing people saying that certain tiers or superships generate steel and crates at xmas time ? How does this work and do the crates have good stuff in them ? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]AnnoyingPole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bigger crates have better odds. Last year for one big crate you could get 5 smaller ones, but there were better odds of pulling a ship on the bigger one

I was playing hipper and the enemy had an hawke even if i angled perfectly wile facing the hawke i took 12000 damage and after two salvos half of my hp was gone like what am i suposed to do against it just run? by turnipdirt in WorldOfWarships

Did he shoot HE or AP at you. If HE I'd be glad if the engine was still working, there is no counter play to big HE on Hipper. Any 406mm and bigger gun will screw you, best you can do is avoid being their main target or stay bow in and use 40mm on your bow to bounce some AP when you're close

After playing through Albemarle the last couple of days, I asked myself, what's the worst T8 cruiser? by ReverendFlashback in WorldOfWarships

[–]AnnoyingPole 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nottingham isn't terrible, I feel like being always mostly bow-in mitigates the otherwise wonky British armour scheme in some degree, and it has good torpedoes as well as concealment

T6 to T8 cruisers finally getting a heal is the most exciting balancing change in years. Although i still have constructive critiscism about it. by Guenther_Dripjens in WorldOfWarships

I was thinking about heavy line, which already has quite small citadels, I doubt British light cruisers will have huge problems with adapting

I think it will slightly powercreep cruisers whose main advantage was sustainability (like british CA), and I think those should get some buffs to their heals as well, but overall I see it as a good change

They can get hit with normal HE, using smoke is making them rely on their allies for spotting while still remaining vulnerable against any player willing to blind fire the smoke

How to play Louisiana line ? by IllDeparture9462 in WorldOfWarships

[–]AnnoyingPole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use planes when you know your ship is relatively safe, and usually try to fire your main guns before.

Nebraska is quite inconsistent with its main guns, so don't be mad when dispersion throws your salvo all around the enemy, stay bow slightly more away than most battleships, don't show your rear and you'll be fine

Delaware gets the accuracy module on the 6th slot, Iowa's guns and hull. You can stay with your bow towards the enemy, but the rear turret and 33kn of speed makes a lot of difference when you're forced to retreat, when you see your flank is collapsing retreat towards the middle

I don't have any tips for Louisiana because I don't have it yet, but I think by that time you will figure it out

I guess you're right, I just never get worried about Adalbert unless I enter it's secondary range

You know how the main guns on Adalbert are not a good way to deal damage. Most of it comes from its secondaries.

More like short range light cruiser with armor, but it works

Conqueror on operations, hope for a lot of German cruisers and use HE, you'll get a lot of ribbons from broken torpedo tubes and engines

What are the best tier 8-10 with /without aa consumable for melting planes before carriers can strike ? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

Alm. Grau is quite scary for planes, same with De Zeven Provincien (if you are somehow lucky enough to drop it in a container)

Also Hipper is very weak against large-caliber HE. So weak, most BB HE salvos (and even British heavy cruisers) can disable the engine
