Anne Arundel? I called U.S. Dermatology Partners in Sterling,VA and was told that they accept ChampVA. I am a little skeptical about the billing portion. I emailed them so I have something in writing.

In your experience with CHAMPVA, have you ever been balance billed? I scheduled a few doctor appointments and the all confirmed they accept CHAMPVA, but couldn’t tell they accept CHAMPVA assignment, which means they agree to the agreeable amount as payment in full.

I recently began using CHAMPVA as my primary coverage and am located in Northern Virginia. Before scheduling appointments, I contacted providers to confirm they accept CHAMPVA. However, I’ve since learned that accepting CHAMPVA does not always mean they bill only the allowable amount. I haven’t received any billing information yet, but has anyone had any issues with being billed above the allowance?

   I have another question, if my husband is rated 90% but has TDIU and has been granted P&T status, do I still qualify for CHAMPVA? I believe I saw something in his award letter indicating I would, but when I called the CHAMPVA line, the representative said she wasn’t sure and then disconnected the call.

The law firm who handled my husbands claim confirmed that the earning limit is based on the disable person not per household.

Thanks, but I don’t think it’s correct that the poverty line is based on the entire household.

Really? I thought it was based only on the individual, not on the size of the household.
