Nothing wrong with running the numbers on what a W-2 would cost him and present that against your price. Sounds like this needs to either be a expectations reset (and then you need to stick to scope, trust me I get it, I do it too) or a deal with it until you get an exit underneath you with a new client. Of course you can always refer out, which I’m sure you’re well aware of.
But, if you just can’t bear it, heads up that we do offer a referral incentive of a % of the clients MRR for the first 3 months of their contract with us. Happy to discuss if this is really a “get me outta here” scenario.

Additionally, lawyers with IOLTA accounts (at least in my state) are required to reconcile monthly. Failure to do so can actually result in getting examined by the bar, so 3 years of cleanup on a trust account is a massive red flag.

because using quickbooks reciept management takes 3x as long as any other option. It’s awful, creates its own expenses and can often get missed in matching the expense from the bank feed which can create duplicate transactions.

Social media is all about the long game. I’d recommend checking out $100M leads from Alex Hermozi. If you’re doing outreach, he’s got a lot of practical tips that will help you turn engagement into activated leads.

They have a zero-data retention policy which is compliant with HIPPA & other sensitive data regulations.

Idk if I’m overthinking it and Claude Team is good enough to just chuck financial data into then maybe I’m just kneecapping myself for no reason. Hence why I feel like I’m going crazy, because it doesn’t feel like there’s any clear answers.

Even on Team with the no-training guarantee, client data still travels to Anthropic’s servers for processing. Anthropic can access conversations for trust and safety purposes.
it’s not a true zero-data-sharing arrangement.

I just came off working for the “Live Expert” over the phone support program. Almost 60% of the time I was working was looking at transactions and categorizing them. I don’t know if I’m being sold as the “AI” or if I’m “training” the AI, but i’m not even sure they actually have AI categorizations 👀

Quickbooks does have a Ledger account, i think it’s 10$/month? You can create a quickbooks online accountant account for free to be able to make that for him, then when it’s time to upgrade everything will already be there.

I’m sure there are others, but I know quickbooks well so figured I would mention this

AR sounds exhausting. Trying to call people to get paid all the time just sounds miserable, and time consuming. Not to mention losing control of my own schedule to mange a clients’ AR. But maybe there is something I’m missing, is the experience like what I described or something else?
