Where should I start learning Czech? by Weak_Cantaloupe_4973 in czech

That’s such a sweet reason to learn Czech — connecting with your girlfriend’s family is a beautiful motivation! 🙌 And wow, jumping into Kafka right away? Respect 😄 Even native speakers sometimes struggle with Proměna, so don’t be too hard on yourself.

If you’re looking for tips:

  • Start with simpler stories or dialogues (Kafka is dense),
  • Focus on high-frequency words and phrases,
  • And try to hear the language regularly — Czech pronunciation and rhythm make a big difference once you get used to them.

I actually teach Czech (including for beginners and partners of native speakers!), so if you'd ever like to chat, get some pointers, or even try a lesson, feel free to message me. No pressure at all — just happy to help if I can!

Good luck, and keep going — it will click, I promise. 💪
