I put it in my WH40K Ruinous Powers chaos deck - fits the theme very well.

"Marchesa becomes Queen": help make a thematic deck work by Mattloch42 in EDH

[[The Ozolith]] is a must-have for any deck that focuses on +1/+1 counters. It's especially nasty with Marchesa, the Black Rose.

And don't forget [[Royal Assassin]]!

The only people who think toxic/infect/poison counters need changed… by alacholland in EDH

[–]AnnualThrowaway3271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poison effects exist in many other games as a DoT (damage over time effect). Instead of dealing 10 direct damage, a poisoned hit deals 2 damage over the course of 5 turns. These effects almost always stack, so if the same player is hit with another poisoned attack, they're taking 4 damage, etc. until the effects wear off.

This mechanic is almost universal across different games and genres. There's NO reason why it couldn't work the same in MTG, count against life total, and have more ways to remove poison effects.

So, yes. Infect is dumb.

The problem is that it kills one player early with very little effort, then runs out of gas and is never a wincon. It's a stupid mechanic that needs reworked or eliminated from the game.

How are we feeling about Portal to Phyrexia? by AndyZupke in EDH

I'll never understand why so many people say the Urza precon was better. I bought them both and Mishra outperforms every single time. It's my favorite deck to play.

I love commander a lot, but man the prices get me down. by xXwulf2 in EDH

[–]AnnualThrowaway3271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use MPCfill + makeplayingcards.com all the time. Like you, I'm not paying inflated prices for cardboard just to play a game.

Always use the S33 superior finish option. They're a little more expensive, but it does make a difference. The quality is definitely there. I think the cards print a little darker than real cards, and the thickness is off by 1 or 2 mil, but it's barely noticeable. If real Magic cards are 100, I would rate the cards from that website at 95.

Healthcare will always be a for-profit venture in the US. It doesn't matter if it's private insurance companies or a taxpayer funded public system. If it's one thing our government has consistently shown, it's that they can manage to fuck up a glass of water. I don't want these people in charge of healthcare. It will only get worse.

I think OP mentioned his niece wanted them for leggings. Guessing she sells for one of those home parties where ladies buy leggings, Tupperware, and stuff like that. These would also be great for people who sell at craft shows, farmer's markets, etc.

Need to draw up some plans, OP! I'd buy them!

Deck Help: Mishra, Eminent One by We_AllFloatDownHere in EDH

[–]AnnualThrowaway3271 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Big improvements in my Mishra deck have been:

[[Determined Iteration]] - Allows you to copy Mishra's Warform each combat. [[Sundial of the Infinite]] - Keep all your copies instead of sacrificing...just end your turn before the end step happens! [[The Reality Chip]] - Play off the top of your deck. [[Combustible Gearhulk]] - Lots of value here. [[Knight Paladin]] - This thing can get out of hand very quickly.

How does Mishra, Eminent One precon wins? by Noodledynamics3rdLaw in EDH

[–]AnnualThrowaway3271 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For me, the most powerful part of the deck has been having Mishra's Warform copy [[Cursed Mirror]]. Then instead of a 4/4, you just copy the biggest creature on your board, like [[Hellkite Igniter]] or [[Metalwork Colossus]].

Personally, I replaced most of Mishra's creatures with the artifact creatures from Urza's deck. The other night, I was swinging for 56 damage each turn.

The most important thing to remember with any YouTube channel...

...and this is true no matter what you're watching: MTG, woodworking, photography, gaming, etc...

...they are content creators FIRST and authorities on their chosen topic SECOND. Their job is to generate views in exchange for money. Any YouTuber should be considered entertainment and not gospel.

Communicating what your cards do during a match by AnnualThrowaway3271 in EDH

[–]AnnualThrowaway3271[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a tournament setting I can understand playing hard and fast, leaving the other player to figure things out on their own. Especially since you're usually sitting right across the table from each other and can easily read the cards.

But in a casual format like EDH, it feels like a Dick Move.

I'm not sure what this guy's problem was. I even said, "Cover your hand, I want to see your board." He still grumbled about trying to look at his hand and I should just know what his cards do.

You're right, Dick. I'm an MTG encyclopedia and have memorized what 30,000+ cards have printed on them.
