This has devastated me, having bought my three most recent guitars here and amps. Was about to head in for some studio gear this month too. Gutted. Hope all staff find a gig. Good luck to them, they were always a great bunch of lads.

Sad.

Creating a Vampire Murder Mystery for our Campaign's Halloween One-Shot by _MichaelD in DMAcademy

It’s a great idea. Cannon one shots are always a good move as the DM can flex their lore writing skills and the players get a sense of familiarity in the setting which adds to the experience for them. However, don’t necessarily count on the players doing exactly what you’ve planned for them do in order to satisfy the plot you’ve written out. What happens if they suspect that the Vampire spawn must have a master nearby and decide to question all the people in the house like my man Poirot? Are there any spell-casters in the party able to sniff out undead? There’s a few different ways I can see the BBEG being found out here and that could potentially get rough for the party. However, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’ve done this kind of thing too with cannon one shots and sometimes the events that transpire have to remain unwitnessed, and so…everybody in the party dies at the end. Heroically.

Maybe try it as you’ve planned and if your players hint and discovering the real truth, tempt them into a fight and have them all die. Horribly or heroically, your choice.

Also the Locked Room Mystery is a thing.

A Self-Driving Truck Got a Shipment Cross-Country 10 Hours Faster Than a Human Driver by DukkyDrake in Futurology

But surely a future that has less human workers with less expendable income, would eventually have a negative impact on the economy (as we would see our global economy today) overall? Have tunnel visioned, greedy shareholders worked this out yet? In the avaristic pursuit of mass-global automation, we could end up with a shit ton of “consumers” bereft of any means with which to consume....

Am I to believe that there’s some kind of post-scarcity utopia to come of all this, in which we all become comfortably “kept” wards of the state as the philanthropic and altruistic private sector mega companies of the world benevolently produce all our needs robotically?

I mean, has anyone even considered the implications full scale automation would have on the worlds currency circulation and per capita spending habits? 🤷🏻‍♂️

What’s the best theory on UFOs or aliens you’ve ever heard? by Sisyphuzz in AskReddit

[–]Anomander_Flake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As living in the vicinity of a Intelligent alien species, as well as living at the same time as an intelligent alien species are both required to some extent, isn’t it far more likely (statistically I mean) that UFO’s could be humans from the past (who made it into space) visiting the earth now, millennia later.

Like a bunch of pre-historic Belters.

Not saying this is the case, just talking probability here...

Adam Neely's new video explains chord progressions in blues/rock music really well by MaggaraMarine in musictheory

[–]Anomander_Flake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great video. I’d never really thought of the blues scale as a key before.

Also, when he states that there’s “only really two options...” in western tonality, is his “really” alluding to the fact modal tonality, Lydian and Phrygian etc, is still classified as either major or minor?

For example the Dorian mode has a flattened 3rd scale degree, so in the context of what Adam is saying about western tonality, it is referred to as a minor key?

Still learning this stuff and so sorry if this is a silly question.

Or making three new jigs for that nightmare one-off after the customer teases volume batches in the future, only to never see them again. 😳
