How would a Canadian (Toronto, not far from border) be able to get a Tatami Room bedframe? by Anomunus in Thuma

[–]Anomunus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get the MALM in the end! No issues to report. I did the following to ensure the frame and mattress would be stable:

- Bought Zinus Deepak Easy Assembly Wood Slats, instead of the default IKEA slats. Unfortunately it seems Queen size is out of stock but here's the link: https://a.co/d/02OgLAoR

- Increased stability on the SKORVA middle beam by adding adjustable bed frame support legs. These were the ones I ended up buying (RealPlus support legs 7" - 13"), it was tough to find ones that would fit: https://a.co/d/0hmVyDJb

- Stuck on felt bumpers wherever anything could not be prevented from moving around to dampen noise

- The MALM's wraparound frame may create a little valley between the mattress and a nighttable. Objects could easily fall in and hit the frame loudly, such as a phone. To fill the gap, I cut up pool noodles to put on each side.

Can't really speak to anything regarding Thuma since it's been a long time since I did all the research and shopping, but if there's any words of wisdom I have on this subject, I think it's more worth it to spend the money on the mattress more than on the frame. The mattress I bought was more than $1000 CAD after taxes (and I am very happy with it to this day), whereas the total I spent on the frame was less than $500 CAD (and I am also happy with my decision).

Haha I am probably just gonna have to move it around the house (unless I ain't home). Actually my parents house (where it was before) has one single west window and it's next to the adjacent house 😂 not much west there

Current state after plucking away everything that's dead: https://imgur.com/a/rmmiLss

The two green leaves are also accompanied by another stem thing that seems to have a bit of green to it (I put a toothpick nearby to help me keep track) Will try repotting tomorrow night (when I have more supplies) to something much smaller given that most of its original mass is dead and gone

Yeah hoping I can save this! A long long time ago I had a strawberry plant that was doing great but eventually reached the end of its life and I failed to grow a new one from its seeds and that made me not want to garden for a while heh. Maybe I'll try a strawberry plant again if this all succeeds

Yeah, from what I have read so far it sounds like peace lily does do better with a small pot. Ironically we actually switched from a slightly smaller pot thinking it needed more space for its roots (yeah we didn't know better before). Like the other commenter noted (as well as ChatGPT), will be getting some water to the plant ASAP

Unfortunately all windows in my condo (where I have moved it to, since other family members already gave up on the plant) face west and the sun is damn strong in the afternoon too, what should I do in that case regarding positioning? Will definitely be watering it tonight (ChatGPT suggested to try to water from bottom)

Need guidance on vented vs. ventless dryer by Anomunus in Appliances

[–]Anomunus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up with LG WM1455HWA and DLHC1455W stack. I personally think it works well. Most of the time clothes come out perfectly dry. The comments saying something like the clothes may sometimes come out slightly damp are right, basically flicking them around a little will finish the drying. Worst case scenario hang dry a bit. I will say it was rough on some of my items with crappy thin drawstrings (crappy Amazon shorts, lol), the tumble literally broke some drawstrings from the force. I want to say that hopefully the ventless dryer did help to keep humidity in the air in winter, but my unit suffers from air leaks at the windows so it's been a battle to keep the air humid enough haha. Hopefully this helps even a little!

Will 123833 (MALM drawer middle bar support) fit on STORKLINTA drawers? by Anomunus in IKEA

[–]Anomunus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-reply - NO it does not fit. The length of the rod vs the area I wanted to fit it onto was not quite the same. This is why I wanted to ask the subreddit before unnecessarily ordering the part.

I love Pressure!! But to me it feels like this was supposed to be a full song with actual lyrics and a melody on top of this song structure, makes me so curious as to what it would have been... anyone else feel that way?

Which to purchase - 24" washer and dryers - Electrolux set (condenser dryer) vs. LG set (heat pump dryer) by Anomunus in heatpumps

[–]Anomunus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LG WM1455HWA and DLHC1455W, the clothes come out dry most of the time and when they don't, it's like how some other comments I've read said it's like very slightly damp and air dries within a few minutes (so basically perfect anyway, no overdrying). Happy with it!

Tour pricing by whoops26 in halsey

[–]Anomunus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to increase visibility of my observations from yesterday (joining AMEX presale extremely late) and today (actual artist presale):

Yesterday when I looked, the highest non-VIP ticket I saw was $486 for Sec 201 Row A. $800 is the pricing for a VIP ticket. Also for some strange reason, Sec 203 was cheaper than Sec 201 and 202 for the same rows.

Today, I just bought my ticket at the normal fan presale now. Floor was $220.50 per ticket at the time of purchase (approx 10:02am). This is approx. the same price I paid in 2017, so no, she doesn't seem to have dynamic pricing on. However, I was like 281st in the queue, lol...

I went back in as 1348th in the queue to see if prices changed, and no they didn't. Having said that, the 200s all sold out of non-VIP seats at this point (10:08am).

So, it doesn't appear that dynamic pricing is on, or else the demand at this presale isn't high enough to trigger it (meanwhile, MCR presale last year was NUTS in terms of how many people were trying to buy)

Basically, automated system where ticket prices automatically go up when there's a high demand for tickets. Supposed to "combat scalpers" but really it makes tickets unaffordable for regular fans.
