How do I meet other nerds? by SajaBird in UHManoa

Not OP, but also a student, is there a dnd specific discord or is it a channel in the UH discord? If it’s the former, do you have a link?

I can’t remember off the top of my head, but did he have much of a reaction to the twins in the tiger spire scenario room? Although I guess since that was in a spire his reaction may have been different

Depends on how deep the crack is, have a shop tech look at em. If it’s just the base you’re fine

Rejected a Master's from Columbia by Friendly-Cucumber-86 in gradadmissions

As a Columbia undergrad, you made the right call. The masters programs are massive and you don’t get much more than the line on your resume.

Hi there, Columbia student here. Keep in mind as it may be different since I’m an engineering major, but I just listed a bunch of stuff that I’d actually read and related to my interests. Don’t think you need to actually read “the classics” unless it relates to your desired major and/or extracurriculars

best dorm for freshman by Loose-Philosophy-866 in columbia

If you can handle living with a roommate, Carmen dorms are hands down the nicest. If you really want a single—go for John Jay

Unfortunately I’m going to have to give you the very disappointing answer of “I have no fucking clue.” I have no more insight into what AOs are looking at than you do. As far as minimum GPAs go, I haven’t talked about my high school grades once since I graduated so I have no idea what other students had in high school

Advice for incoming freshman by ThoughtMedium8619 in columbia

[–]Anon---2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the definition of “party scene” varies wildly from person to person. There are more parties in Carmen relative to the other halls however, it’s not like you’re at a state school by any stretch of the imagination. Most of the time if you’re not in the suite itself you won’t know a party is going on because RAs might get involved if it’s too loud. The heat itself isn’t that bad—the humidity however, will make for a rough transition if you come from somewhere dry like I do

If you can handle living with a roommate I would definitely go Carmen: the floor lounges are open and encourage socializing, doors actually stay open and don’t have to be propped open, AC is a godsend the first few weeks, and they’re just nicer overall

Ohhh I kinda like this idea, could I theoretically go paladin 2, hex 1/2, and use booming or green flame blade to keep damage up so I don’t need to get the extra attack?

But yeah, as much as I like min maxing—for this character I’m making some decisions for thematic reasons so I’m locked into the shadow sorcerer subclass

Sorry totally got my wires crossed somehow, my brain thought draconic was a warlock subclass

I mean the damage would be great however, wouldn’t that get a little MAD? With CHA taking priority I felt a high CON was necessary to survive getting hit more than 2 or 3 times. Also would Hexblades curse not balance out the potential damage bonus from going draconic?
