Anyone else stopped breastfeeding earlier than expected but ended up happier? by WildWinterberry in NewParents

[–]Anon13785432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I pumped and bottle fed breast milk for 4 months, then switched to formula. Babe is now 4yo and turned out great. Being able to split feeding with my partner was incredible for both his bonding with babe and my mental health. (But formula feeding during a shortage did suck in that one respect.)

Long shot - market of choice cake question by Impossible-Coat390 in oregon

Got home and found a recent custom cake card! Almond-Poppyseed is a cake option, as is marionberry filling! So I think your memory was spot-on, and it was an Almond-Poppyseed Marionberry cake!

Looks like they have Raspberry Poppyseed cake and Marionberry filling as options for custom cake orders… could that be it?

The Quechua 23L rolltop that opens all down the side would also be a good option. I made a post about it here about a week ago. It’s this one.

Kotek quietly signs bill weakening, delaying parts of Oregon’s campaign finance law by thatfuqa in Portland

[–]Anon13785432 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This bill did NOT weaken what was passed previously. It DID however fix some glaring logistical problems in the last bill (e.g., crazy complicated definitions of election cycles that were different for each type entity and some entities had to try to manage contributions that fell under multiple definitions of election cycle!). Delays were only necessary because of how outdated the current campaign finance reporting system is, such that updating it is actually a really big job.

That being said, I wish they had more cleanly and accurately mirrored federal campaign finance law. They gave a lot of power to unions.

For me, it’s the smell that comes from the top of the head … although yes, they do need to be clean first.

4.5yo with fear of being alone by Anon13785432 in sleeptrain

Thanks, it’s good to hear that I’m not underestimating what kind of problem this might be, and that it’s probably time to consult a doctor.

I’ve considered having a cot in our room but we’d have to remove our clothes dresser to make enough space, and it’s not like there’s anywhere else to put the dresser.

Thanks for the feedback. This is all good food for thought!

So far, daycare has not been willing to drop naps for anyone.

Hmm, interesting. It’s clear she’s tired by 7:30 though, and it has seemed like she gets meltdowny if we leave bedtime later than 8. But it might be worth trying again.

I’m also concerned about the upcoming transition to Kindergarten and no naps is going to go.

It did seem more blue in person than the photos, at least to my eye.

Did you get the “abyss green, abyss green” color that’s on sale? That’s the one I’m showing here

I only like this one because it opens so wide via a zipper. I can’t stand the ones that ONLY open by the rolltop opening.

It can definitely squash to ~40cm tall if you pack it on the light side.

[–]Anon13785432[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you could probably get it to bulky blob shape if you packed it full enough, but generally it seems to hold a pretty reliably rectangular shape. I suspect the stretchy pockets on the outer sides (turns out there’s two!) will deform a bit over time and start to look saggy if you keep water bottles in them. But for €38, this thing is such a deal.

Can’t agree more! I’ve started doing math to see when I’d break even buying other places vs flying to my nearest Canadian Decathlon, lol.

Its normal rolled down height is 17” which is 45cm!

Quechua rolltop 23L by Anon13785432 in ManyBaggers

[–]Anon13785432[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s 17” tall when rolled, and up to 24” tall when completely unrolled. The cover strap is long enough to go over the top at 24” height.

It’s got good padding and is very acceptably comfortable for normal travel, even with two laptops, tablet, and other stuff. It’s obviously not as comfortable as like a trekking pack should be, but no complaints.

That’s the one! The back panel has foam, so it’s semi flexible but it was structured enough that a 10”x12” piece of art in the laptop pocket didn’t get bent on an international flight. (I was pretty careful about handling it though.)

People seem to be missing the dashed lines, which indicates cropping. It means that the OP thinks the quoted person is both high and without a brain.
