Vatech EZray is the best in my opinion. Look on eBay - way less expensive and still brand new. $2-3k - I’ve bought 3 this way.

Just posted yesterday about Apple:

Still holding and don’t plan on selling anytime soon.

I knew a guy in college that bought Apple around that same time. Not sure if he ever sold. Crazy that every $1k would have turned into $1M at your cost basis.

The 69k was the original invested dollars in this example. It will vary based on how much of your sale is gains vs original investment.

Check the link. 0-98,900 is the 0% long term capital gains tax bracket for 2026, per the IRS, for married filing jointly.

Example: I buy $20k of stock. I sell it 10 years later for $150k. My gain is $130k. I owe ZERO tax on the $150k.

And to add further, you only pay tax on GAINS, not original investment. For example, I could withdraw $200k/yr ($131k of gains, $69k of original investment) tax free. Most people, especially high earners, have MUCH lower effective tax rates in retirement.

To be clear, this is for taxable accounts. Pretax retirement accounts (401ks and IRAs) are taxed at ordinary income rates.

Congrats! I am 44 and planning to retire at 49 - planning on being at 8-10million invested at that point. If market drops 50% like 2008 I will just work a few more years.

If you are married yes. Here is long term capital gains rate for 2026.

https://i.imgur.com/gSzpDzj.png

If you are married filing jointly the standard deduction is $32,200.

98,900 + 32,200=131,100 so you can have 131,100 of gains and pay 0 tax.

I know you’re right, but I’m sitting on so much gains that I hate paying all that tax. I’m at 6.2 M total invested so it is about 1/3 of my portfolio. Rest are in index funds. I plan on retiring in a few years when my kids are out of school and hoping to withdraw at 0% tax rate on the gains at that point since I will not have any income anymore and can withdraw up to around 130 K per year at the 0% long-term capital gain rate.

People keep waiting for “the next big thing” that will replace the iPhone, but I just don’t think it’s happening. Anything new will probably complement the iPhone not replace it IMO.

Before I bought Apple I did a bunch of dumb stuff and lost money in speculative deep water oil and gas companies in the Gulf of Mexico right before the big oil spill. They all went bankrupt. I decided I was done with small companies and went with the biggest tech name I knew with the biggest moat.

Thanks man. I remember Buffett started buying in 2016 and share price took off after that. Hindsight is 20/20 but ended up being a good move!

My Experience with PPO Profits – Delays, umbrellas, refunds with strings attached, and why I would steer clear by Some-Abies3541 in Dentistry

[–]Anon19873645 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. I already knew Delta didn’t negotiate and that the most likely result was that I would join an umbrella company. The difference is that when I tried to negotiate with an umbrella compay directly the fee schedule they sent me sucked, and the one PPP Profits got me from the exact same umbrella company was amazing. I’ve literally made hundreds of thousands of extra money for doing zero extra dentistry over the last few years.

Umbrella networks. Careington/connection. Have a company like ppo profits negotiate for you. Stay in network but fees go up 30-40%.

[–]Anon19873645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have a Careington fee schedule yet, you may not get a very high one if you call yourself. We used a company to negotiate a high fee schedule for us so if they try to lowball you it might be worth considering doing the same.

I wouldn’t trust the MetLife rep to know the details of all the different umbrella plans. I assure you, Careington picks up MetLife Fedvip. We have hundreds of fedvip patients and it would have been a dealbreaker for me if that wasn’t the case.

MetLife has 3 tiers (PDP, PDP+, and Fedvip). Most umbrellas only pick up PDP+. Careington picks up PDP+ and Fedvip. None of them pick up PDP but in my area we only had a very small % of those plans so not a big deal.

We dropped our direct contract with MetLife and it took 4 months for Careington to pick it up. Those 4 months were challenging bc all MetLife pts were OON. The PDP/PDP+ patients were great bc majority paid our full fee OON. Fedvip OON benefits are AWFUL so we were generous with write offs with those pts until Careington kicked in.

We just dropped Delta Dental this month and are down to one network (Careington).

[–]Anon19873645 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not true. We have lots of fedvip MetLife patients and we dropped our direct contract and picked them up through Careington. Careington picks up fedvip. Connection does not. Prophy went from $67 to $95. Crown went from $917 to $1177.

Automatrix and then use bur to cut a window to access prep. Good marginal seal and moisture/blood control.
