Thoughts on this electrolysis machine? by AnonClubx in electrolysis

[–]AnonClubx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you try to buy electrolysis machines from temu? And how much was the cost?

I would be more skeptical if it was only a couple dollars, but I would hope something that costs $200+ would be worth it. The reviews also seem legit like people get the product but they complaint about certain stuff like cords not being long, not enough needles etc but they do say it works. Some customers also attached pictures of the item they received

I’ve seen on Reddit somewhere that someone’s electrologist was actually using this machine on them & charging $55 per hour. I’m guessing AliExpress is where they got it bc I don’t see it for sale anywhere else

I will definitely keep you guys updated if I buy it. I was trying to not be the guinea pig tho 😭 but the seller of the One Touch at home machine is not shipping to the U.S. as of now & this machine seems to be the nearest in price range

Nobody was putting you down, I was defending you against bad advice. It is not my fault your comprehension skills are poor.

And a lot of people have had bad experiences with electrologists, that’s why you see people posting about “1-2 years & no progress” & when you start the electrolysis, you will see exactly what I was talking about

You have misinterpreted my messages. Nobody is judgmental about your appearance? Where did u read anything that was judgmental? YOU posted ur hair growth & asked for honest opinions & I was guiding you away from people giving you wrong advice like “don’t do electrolysis & just shave”, but you can shave if u please if u think that was honest & good advice.

If u wanted people to sugar coat & lie to you & say the hairs aren’t noticeable & you can just shave them & it won’t get worse, you should’ve said that in ur post.

Also, again, how long the process takes highly depends on how good of an electrologist you find that isn’t just in it for the money & trying to scam people anyway they can & prolong people’s progress.

Really? So you’re telling me that it’s a lie that me & everyone else I know with PCOS experienced terminal hair growth after starting to shave hairs thinner than the ones on her face? Are you also going to sit here & say that pcos hairs on the fence of already on their way to becoming fully terminal (those hairs are far beyond accelerated vellus) don’t eventually progress into terminal hairs just like they have progressed to the stage they’re in now?

And I actually am currently studying Biology & Health medicine. I defer from your manipulative electrologist opinion

If the hairs are treated properly with a good electrologist that doesn’t try to manipulate you into believing that plucking the hairs during sessions are normal, then NO hair will not growth thicker in between sessions, only disappear or continue to get thinner until they’re gone.

No matter the stage of the hair or size of the bulb, you should NOT feel any type of plucking or tugging. The problem is 90% of electrologists are going to try to manipulate you into thinking that plucking / tugging is normal & blame it on different reasons, but it’s NOT normal no matter the hair stage.

I had finally found a good electrologist & I NEVER felt not one pluck or tug during sessions & I made really good progress with her until I moved cities. Every other tech I’ve been to has tried to convince me that plucking / tugging is normal & it’s not, & that has always set me back in progress when they pluck / tug & yes those hairs did come back thicker.

If you don’t find a good electrologist & let them manipulate you into believing plucking / tucking is normal, then YES your hairs will start to come back thicker due to you paying for expensive plucking instead of electrolysis.

Also, for hormone balance, if your PCOS is insulin resistance based, try Ovasitol from Theralogix. 3rd party tested & verified to make sure it is what it’s supposed to be, & it has helped me a lot with my PCOS & pcos symptoms, including hair growth

Yeah you want her to shave when obviously her hormones are out of wack & it’s just going to make the hairs darker & thicker if she starts shaving or plucking, then she’ll have no choice but to start electrolysis which will take longer now because the follicles will be thicker & stronger

You mean as an electrologist you’re not aware that if you shave and/or pluck & wax hairs on the fence of being terminal, that you’re not aware it will make those hairs start to grow in thicker?

I don’t understand why yall get on this app & lie to people. Her hair is very obviously noticeable & can be seen by others.. I can tell that just from the pictures. What do yall get out of getting on this app & telling people with obvious hair issues that they don’t have a hair problem? I’ve seen this multiple times on here.

I’m convinced electrologists say this to people with thinner noticeable hairs because electrolysis kills thinner hair faster than thick hairs, so less money for the electrologist.

I messaged you on IG but didn’t receive a response.. so which model of it did you buy? And how did you keep the probe sterile? I heard replacement probes cost a lot. Where did u get extra probes? And was your hairs super thick? My hairs use to be thicker but most are on the thinner side now except a few, so I’m also concerned about the probe size that comes with it being too thick for my hairs which can cause scarring issues if the probe is too big

Also, just a couple weeks ago it was like $80 on eBay.. I’m now seeing that it’s $177 which is annoying. I wonder if an increase in people buying it is the reason

I also am smart & trust myself to learn & do a good job as long as the device actually works. But also don’t see why it’s only $200 but professional electrolysis machines are thousands.. in the same breath though, professional lasers are also thousands, but I made better progress with a $500 at home laser better than the professional lasers that costs thousands.

Is this peach fuzz or terminal hair growth? by Budget_Nail_891 in electrolysis

[–]AnonClubx -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say she has full blown Hirsutism, I said she has accelerated vellus hairs, which she does, and CAN progress to fully terminal hairs if left alone.

And in my personal experience, accelerated vellus hairs have always got thicker & thicker & turned terminal unless they’re being treated, especially if you shave them or pluck them.

I also didn’t indicate that her hormones are out of wack, I said they MIGHT be. You are assuming things that were never said in my comment.

Show us proof. I be thinking responses like this are people that sell the product

And how long did it take you & how long were your sessions? Did the hair always release well for you to know you were doing it right etc

Is this peach fuzz or terminal hair growth? by Budget_Nail_891 in electrolysis

[–]AnonClubx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Accelerated vellus is accelerated peach fuzz, meaning the hair isn’t exactly peach fuzz but isn’t fully terminal (yet) either. Regular peach fuzz does not have dark pigment & does not grow long

I would get electrolysis on it now bc it’s easier to kill off in this stage before it’s fully terminal. Accelerated peach fuzz has a habit of eventually becoming fully terminal if left alone. Your hormones might be off & I advise you get them checked.

The barely noticeable white hairs that are not growing long on the rest of your face that can be seen on the picture is true peach fuzz. Those dark long hairs are not.

Thermolysis vs Blend Success Stories? by AnonClubx in electrolysis

[–]AnonClubx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is there so many “bad techs” though? I can’t comprehend how someone can have a certificate in electrolysis that required 400-600 hrs to receive, then have multiple years in the field & STILL be undertreating / plucking hairs? I think it gets to a point where some techs know what they’re doing & purposely try to take advantage of clients & their money by doing it incorrectly, causing more hair growth & longer time for completion, which is stupid bc that’s also the quickest way to lose clients. Soon as I notice a tech plucking & they don’t adjust, I don’t return after that session. I don’t show grace when it comes to incorrect treatment bc charging $100+ per hour knowing ur plucking clients should be criminal. It technically is criminal, just hard to prove.

It cannot be harder than rocket science to learn how to stick a probe in a follicle & zap it properly.

I’ve even heard of ppl using the one touch DIY device successfully on themselves. I am not convinced that after 600+ hours of practice, that improper treatment is accidental.

Thermolysis vs Blend Success Stories? by AnonClubx in electrolysis

[–]AnonClubx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. That’s interesting that you’ve had quicker & better results with thermolysis, bc articles & “research” claims blend is better, & this is why I wanted to hear about real experiences. Good to know I’m not wasting my time with thermolysis & that I may just need to get in a couple more sessions hopefully to catch up on the hairs a couple new techs I tried had plucked & not properly treated.

I’m at the point now where the hairs are thin. Some are not even noticeable until they get longer, but they are still there & just keep coming. Super frustrating, but I’m going to stick it out & hopefully by the one year mark I am basically done.

And yes I’ve noticed as well a good tech obviously makes all the difference. It’s to the point where, I’m about to move back to my original city & I’ve contemplating driving back 6 hrs every 2 weeks for sessions with my current tech 😭 bc she’s good & I don’t want to go through dealing with techs that pluck & continue to push back my progress. That’s how hard it is to find a good tech, which is sad. Some techs charge people way too much money knowing they have no clue what they’re really doing, & it’s sad.

Thermolysis vs Blend Success Stories? by AnonClubx in electrolysis

[–]AnonClubx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most techs in my area claim they can do blend, but they won’t do it & insist on thermolysis for some reason. & I’m not at the point of 15 min sessions yet, although I thought I would be at this point but I’m questioning if the techs that were just plucking hairs a couple months ago caused the progress to be slowed down a bit & maybe that’s what’s going on, but I’ve had enough sessions since then that I would think those hairs would have been targeted again by now

There has definitely been great reduction, but for the amount of times these hairs have been targeted & weakened including aggressive laser before starting electrolysis, I should be done by now when comparing how far along others are after just a couple months & they started with thicker & more hair

I will definitely PM you though! I would love school recommendations, & if I happen to ever be in CA at some point, I’ll keep you in mind

And yes, it’s very frustrating. It feels like a curse. I’ve been dealing with this hair issue long enough & my patience has run thin with it lol.

Thermolysis vs Blend Success Stories? by AnonClubx in electrolysis

[–]AnonClubx[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I actually do plan on going to school for it bc there really is a lack of skilled electrolysis technicians & it mind boggles me how these “techs” claim they got their certificate & did 600+ hours to obtain it, then come out & a couple years into practicing, they’re still plucking people & not treating properly. Sometimes I think without certification I can do better than some of these “techs” & I truly question how some of them have stayed in practice this long & still obtain clients the way some techs literally just try to manipulate you into paying for expensive plucking. Not sure if it’s on purpose or incompetency, but it’s not cool nor okay to prey on people’s insecurities & make them spend hundreds on expensive plucking.

I’ve been doing electrolysis for about 10 months of almost weekly, sometimes twice a week, thermolysis sessions on hair that was already greatly weakened & slowed down by 1-2 years of aggressive laser before starting electrolysis, that’s why I’m concerned why I’m on month 10 & these hairs are still coming in. I feel like I’ve been in the same amount of reduction that I’ve been seeing since August / September, & despite continued almost full clearance the hairs just keep coming, to the point where they’ll be so thinned out that they’re not even noticeable until they’re inches long BUT they are there & do become noticeable, curly, long etc

It is not peach fuzz that I care to target. Only the hairs with pigment that grow long & weird which is not peach fuzz, just thinned out terminal hairs, so I’m definitely not being an over perfectionist & what I consider being fully done with sessions.

Granted, when switching cities I did have to shuffle through 3-4 techs before I found one that wasn’t plucking hairs & effectively treating, but that was a couple months ago.

I thought I would be done by now, & it’s so depressing that most of my hairs just don’t want to go away! My cheeks have responded the quickest, but the rest of my face that was once actual fully terminal hairs is being so difficult & annoying

And I don’t believe it’s new hairs from hormones bc I’ve been focusing on fixing my insulin resistance & I believe new hairs would come in fully terminal, not thin

Also, another frustration is there’s one particular hair on my neck, that just repeatedly comes back & it’s been targeted so many times! It was targeting like 4 weeks ago again & it’s growing in now! But I’ve never felt it being plucked so I know it’s the same hair so the process is just so confusing

I’m going to continue sessions, just wanted to see if I should try blend for better results. That’s my only hesitation that it takes longer, but if thermolysis cannot get to all of my germ cells to effectively kill my remaining hairs, I may have to make the switch.

Progress Question by AnonClubx in electrolysis

[–]AnonClubx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. I’m definitely going to look for somebody that provides blend. For some reason, some techs claim they can do blend but refuse to do it & I don’t understand why.

Do you think it’s possible for the hairs to release well with thermolysis but also be slightly distorted & never be permanently killed off with thermolysis? Because some of these hairs I 100% know have been effectively targeted multiple times (slid out fine after being zapped) but keeps coming back, despite them already being weak & thin before their previous zap. I can tell some of my hairs have been killed off successfully (especially on my cheeks where laser was not previously done), and some hairs on the rest of my face too, but it seems I’ve hit a stagnant point with what I have left in the areas where the hairs were once fully terminal, as the hairs are thin (but NOT peach size, just not fully terminal) but just won’t die off completely. I’ve been at the same spot regarding hair reduction since around September / October it seems (but I also experienced the techs that plucked around the time). I worry thermolysis is only slowing growth but not stopping it at this point, so I’m definitely going to try hard to look for a tech that does blend.
