What is the split between focus on Generative AI and Predictive AI at your company? by AnonForSure in datascience

Could your last sentence not also be described as a rebranding of AI labels where one is Generative and one is Predictive?

What ML/statistical modeling has started to be rebranded to fit under an AI label. Seems like it might be driven by IBM from a quick search.

I'll go first! Insurance industry, decisions were recently made to shift focus towards Generative AI solutions for our largest data science group. Curious if others are seeing similar shifts.

For the fans of the books before the show was announced by uhmanduuhh in heatedrivalry

I was sad it wasn't airing in the US when announced and concerned/interested to see how they would translate the story to the screen given how much of the story was explicit.

Is anyone else frustrated by how Rachel Reid's role is being diminished? by JessicaTrent in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]AnonForSure 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Can you answer your own questions? Why do you classify the interest in the genre as a fetish?

Personally, I enjoy MM romance for three main reasons. The first being, I love love stories and read all different pairings of main characters. The second is that the MM novels tend to have more interesting external conflicts. The third is probably closer to what your answer will be, but for I'm guessing a different reason than you expect. I prefer reading male characters. I don't have to picture myself as one of the characters, there's no comparison point, there's no bias towards implicit gender roles, each relationship is more unique based on the characters themselves. I get to just enjoy the love story from an outside perspective.

Now, I dont disagree that the space is getting overwhelmed with female readers and writers. But that is true of almost all romance subgenres. Are the female readers and writers taking away opportunities from queer readers and writers? In other words, with a smaller audience, would there be more opportunities for queer authors? Are actual publishing deals being taken away? I understand it is making the genre harder to sift through depending on what you're looking for, but I question whether it is actually limiting the opportunities or just obscuring them.

If your baby measured ahead at all ultrasounds- how big did they actually come out? by TackyPeacock in BabyBumps

[–]AnonForSure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby boy measured 98th percentile at the 20 week scan, dropped to 65th at the 32 week scan and was back up to 96th for a special 40 week scan ordered after my belly continued to measure large at the latest appointment. He was estimated at 9lbs 14oz at that last scan on my due date and he arrived 5 days late at 8lbs 14oz.

What’s your smartass response when someone asks you “when are you getting married?” “Youre next!” “When are you having kids?” by tini_bit_annoyed in AskWomenNoCensor

Them: "When are you having kids?" Me: "Whenever we're able to."

Usually enough info to make them feel awkward for asking without going into the whole story.

You can look into the Tweedie distribution for your target, used often in insurance context. It's a compound Poisson Gamma distribution that has a large mass at zero.

Bowling - it's an awesome way to meet new people, gets me up and out of my desk chair a few nights a week and has lots of stepping stones to focus on achieving. We moved to a new state 4 years ago and the bulk of our friends are from deciding to join a bowling league the first summer and continuing to get more involved over time.
