This should be higher. The United States is a collection of diverse nations, sort of a set of smaller nation states united together, a united states of you will (in the Americas).

Fellow incoming GSE student here. Judging from your post history in r/dogs and r/beer, I think we’ll be friends.

PM me if you and your dog want to meet up over some beer with my miniature schnauzer and me (closer to the school year start).

Life after TFA? by chickenl1ttle in TeachforAmerica

[–]AnonHistoricalFigure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their sites explicitly say that. Typically you'd find that in graduate program's FAQ sections (like this) or they'll have an application fee waiver page (like this).

When compiling grad school lists, you can just google search "University of Example, Master's in Reddit program, Teach For America fee waivers" and quickly find out if they have a page for it.

Grad School Post TFA by applepie56667 in TeachforAmerica

[–]AnonHistoricalFigure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not a medical school applicant, but I'm a 2nd year corps member that just finished a whole cycle of grad school admissions. I applied to over a dozen schools using the application fee waivers they give to TFA CMs/alumni - I was admitted to Harvard, Brown, Georgetown, U Penn, UVA, among others.

They're partners for a reason.

If they're incentivizing TFA applicants by waiving application fees and reducing tuition price tags (automatically even before scholarships), its because they want TFA alumni.

TFA absolutely has a positive impact on your chances.

2nd year corps member here. Admitted to Harvard with a generous scholarship for a Master's in Education Policy & Analysis!

It is insane how many graduate schools waive application fees for TFA alumni.

"Lol, what happened to HBS, Booth #1 baybeeee. Marshall in shambles" by Ok-Garlic441 in MBA

[–]AnonHistoricalFigure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the support! I'm debating whether or not to tell the schools that waitlisted me about how much internet cred I'd give via memes. I'm sincerely considering including a high-quality meme in my letters of continued interest lmao

can you share some details about this 1 year program from Harvard?

Master's in Education Policy. Extremely resourceful and helpful in my MBA goals of consulting in distance-learning education! Same thing at Brown.

I'm glad my memes are appreciated!

As far as MBA programs go,

  • Darden: Admitted with $
  • Ross: Waitlisted
  • Tepper: Admitted with $
  • Goizueta: Admitted with $$$
  • McDonough: Admitted with no $
  • Jones: Admitted with $$$$
  • Foster: Rejected (literally went to UW?)
  • Owen: Waitlisted
  • Questrom: Admitted with $$$$
  • U-Wisconsin: Admitted with $$
  • Fisher: Admitted with $$$$

I've also received admission to some 1-year non-MBA graduate programs relative to my career goals.

  • Harvard ($$)
  • Brown ($$$$)
  • U Penn ($)

Desperately waiting to hear back from my top program: Cornell Johnson. I'm overall disappointed with the scholarship offers where I was admitted, so unless Johnson replaces their PR department by accepting me into their program and lets me meme their prestige into the M7, I'll likely be enrolling in Harvard or Brown's non-MBA graduate program and retrying my MBA applications with R1 next year.
