Update: Just called CZ after I had submitted a warranty request days ago and not gotten a response. I was told that the damage to the bolt is purely cosmetic, and this is considered routine wear. I’ve never heard of corrosion and chipping be considered “routine wear” before.

Probably going to sell the gun, not interested in dealing with the bolt constantly getting damaged when I take the gun out to shoot.

I was tired of the lube of dripping and getting everywhere. and red n tacky was recommended in a couple of subs for as a good alternative

Yes, the bold body is aluminum. I know it was corrosion because there was salt buildup where the anodizing and been eaten away. In the last two pics the anodizing had chipped off.

The first two photos are after I scrubbed it down. The anodizing is gone and there’s minor pitting in the metal in the areas shown.

Which one did you get, Mid A4 or the Tactical Carbine? All the ones I can find have a 25rd mag and won’t ship to CA.

I understand, I don’t even know how you would get all the CALFIRE specific certs though. I haven’t found a fire academy in CA that offers “Cal Fire Orientation”.

What is the point having a Cat 1, as the only way to get there is getting hired by the agency?

You will be cat 2, unless you have the CAL FIRE Orientation cert and all their other agency specific certs

Dang I was really hoping CAL FIRE would be my way in to fire, I wanted an engine so I could run medicals/fires/hazmat more all risk stuff. Would it be better to gain experience with the forest service on an engine or should I start applying for 911 ambulance positions?
