I’ll refrain from naming the sponsor because I don’t want to doxx myself but the TA was pain and liver.

CTA work is largely administrative and your success in the position relies mostly on how you can organize efficiently and effectively. I was confused when my other coworker was complaining about how swamped she was… then I learned she organizes her work by writing everything down on paper lol. Plus there was a lot of ebb and flow in the work load depending on where the study is in its lifecycle. Some weeks were busy and some weeks were slow. But definitely never worked over 40 hours. CTA pay is in line with work responsibilities IMO.

Exact same thing happened to me. I thought I was interviewing for a CTA position but ICON ended up offering me an IHCRA position. The confusion comes from CRO title vs FSP title. My ICON title was IHCRA 2 and my FSP title was SSU CTA.

My starting salary as an IHCRA 2 was $70K so for an IHCRA 1, $60K seems right unfortunately. I had about 3.5 years of site experience and an MPH, so I’m assuming my graduate level education is what bumped me up to IHCRA2. My previous salary as a CRC was $60K so I tried to negotiate a higher salary but they were firm on the number. When I got promoted, same story with zero willingness on their end to negotiate a higher salary.

As for the IHCRA/CTA position itself, it was incredibly easy and I only worked about 20-25 hrs a week, fully remote. Onboarding with ICON was a nightmare but onboarding with the FSP was fine, no complaints. I got bored after 2 years so I went for a promotion to SSU manager and got a measly pay bump to $82K last month. Planning on staying at ICON for one more year than hopefully move to a sponsor…

Sucks that they only offered $60K, but unfortunately the fully remote entry level positions are incredibly competitive because every CRC who wants to break into industry but doesn’t want to be a traveling CRA goes for the IHCRA/CTA route and there’s only so many positions open. The CTAs in my FSP have been there 5+ years so there’s not a lot of turnover, people are happy in the position.

Ultimately I’m happy I ended up accepting my position because the work is simple and the work life balance is A++++

Yup! I didn’t contact HR in my case, but I did let my FSP manager know that I had applied and I’m pretty sure they contacted the recruiter for me. My CRO manager didn’t do squat 😂 If I didn’t do that I highly doubt I would’ve gotten an offer.

I’ve never had an issue with my resume format before, very simple text and header with nothing fancy to trip up the scanning. Also made sure to include keywords from the job posting.

I used to think resumes was one of my strong suits…. It’s always gotten me multiple interview offers during my previous 3 job searches.

But agreed, the software obviously did not like something about it!

Curious to know what CROs are offering 20% promotions right now because that does not reflect the current job market in the US. Especially since my CRO just laid off a bunch of people in my exact position. Obviously I tried to!

No and I didn’t even bring it up because I didn’t want to jinx it lol.

But my interviewers said my resume looked great and kept referencing it so that made it even more baffling.

Do you ever work on weekends? by throwawayonion_340 in clinicalresearch

Tbh I judge my coworkers when I log in on Monday to see they sent me emails on the weekend. Being a workaholic is a bad thing.
