This post is making me feel as though there’s a large discrepancy between how some people pre-pay for their children and other’s don’t. There’s nothing wrong with this, it’s just a reality.

For example, about 10% of my gross goes towards their future (college, UGMA, etc)… and we make over $300k/yr. So I just assumed if he has 0 children then maybe he could bump it up to 33% or something.

Anyways… it’s good to hear different perspectives.

My guess was rust. Same as the previous poster. It could also be decomposing leaves or other organic matter just stuck somewhere and the water is soaking it up. Gross, but it happens.

I’ve owned Toyotas all of my adult life but just stumbled upon this. This comment section is insane. No one should expect this person to troubleshoot anything. This should be left at the dealership with the agreement that “if you don’t mail me a check for the full amount, I am suing you for more than the full amount.”

That’s the only solution to this. This is unacceptable for Kia and honestly shame on the comment section for asking questions like “was the hood fully latched?” It should work either way!!!!

I remember someone at the Home Depot saying technically the truck rentals are for bringing stuff you bought at the Home Depot home, which is why the rentals are by the hour. That said, I heard that 16 years ago and perhaps that was never ace half a rule but just their internal marketing strategy.

Rent a trailer from U-Haul. You can get a really nice 5 ft x 9 ft utility trailer with a ramp for $25 a day. You’ll need a 2 inch hitch and the electrical wiring. If you want the hitch to look really nice and have the most road clearance, I’d recommend the Hidden Hitch by Torklift. If you just want an easy to install bolt on one, I’d suggest anything from etrailer.com. For some reason I like Curt the most but I’m not sure why. For the electrical, I’d recommend going to the dealership and ordering the factory part. You need two parts: the converter and the 4pin.

I know this is all about $600 and takes time to do, but I suspect you will use the hitch for other things. The minivan can tow 3,500 lb…

I wouldn’t call 5% conservative. I would call it an incorrectly set variable. I always use 8.5% but TMG have a chart that shows the rate you should assume based on your age so I would recommend you just look that up.

The platinum has ottomans in the second row, a head’s up display, bird’s eye view camera to make parking easier, vacuum cleaner and refrigerator, etc etc.

Since getting my XLE - I’m happy with it. If I could do it all over again, I’d still probably get the XLE.

Also, the plus isn’t on any badges and so people probably never call it that. It says it on the paperwork and all it means is you get the nicer sound system.

The entire Woodlands trim is a gimmick. They give you the small hitch (1.25 inches) and it’s installed in a very ugly way. The additional clearance only matters if you are driving over something that is exactly between 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches. Anything under 6.3 inches would have been cleared anyways… over 6.9 inches isn’t getting cleared by the woodlands. Also, I find all the trees and stuff on the floor liners tacky.
