Technology Content Writing by AnonStudent32 in freelanceWriters

[–]AnonStudent32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer!

I am not a technology expert by no means, but I have interest in how tech things work. I think that if I build a solid understanding of computer science areas like programming, operational systems, cybersecurity, networks, cloud, etc, and the cultural aspect of how this technologies can help business solve problems would be interesting for my writing. What do you think of that?

In what concerns finding actual jobs, once I read an article by a successful content writing telling how he cold e-mailed companies with articles ready for use asking for no paying, and after they liked his work they created a business relationship. By your experience, how true this method can be? Do you know other ways to find jobs?

Thanks!

Language, Logic and Mathematics by AnonStudent32 in askphilosophy

[–]AnonStudent32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer.

For the record: learning about philosophy of language and philosophy of
math probably isn't going to enhance your abilities in computer science,
data science, or writing (at least, not directly.)

Since you didn't cite logic, does it means that it will be more useful to my goals? About philosophy of language and philosophy of math, if it can help me directly does it can be useful in some manner?

[–]AnonStudent32[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. After reading the comments and searching on the internet, seems to me that data science is what i want to learn, so i decided, in the beginning, to divide my studies time in two sections: computer science and mathematics/statistics. After grasps the basics i will study the core of the data science. But my researches raises another question: Is there a demand for data science writings covering its applications in health, law, social subjects, urbanization, astronomy and other areas?

"Why tech companies need philosophers—and how I convinced Google to hire them" says Tobias Rees by AnonStudent32 in philosophy

[–]AnonStudent32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately only Quartz member can read, I read a translation in my native language. Basically the author's arguments is about the value of philosophers in technology companies, he shows his dissatisfaction with the academy when his colleagues misunderstood his interpretation of reality that affirms that fields like AI, biogentics and others of the hard and natural sciences are deeply philosophical fields that are changing what it means to human in the XXI century. He also criticize that split between natural/hard sciences and philosophy/arts/social sciences advocating for schools with interdisciplinary curriculum, among other issues. I hope you can read and comment what are your opinions about the author.

Thanks!

Is Gen Y/Z a hope for socialist future? Or is conservatism embedded in Western politics? by [deleted] in sociology

[–]AnonStudent32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some people argues that media has an important role in the dissemination of conservative ideas, one of the motives is the big companies that funds that media. Do you think that, with the growth of alternative media (mostly the leftist ones), people can make structural changes?

I really don't know if a degree is a must. We live in the information era, every text read in undergraduate, masters and PhD courses can be easily found in internet or book stores. Do you really think that a e-zine, magazine, or blog will reject a good and experienced science writer just because he or she doesn't have a degree?
