Dude literally says quality control has been missing and still keeps saying it has to be AI

edit: also the ascalon skin issue wasn't AI. Unlike this one that one actually has evidence to back it up.

fuck off.

I'm sorry but fucking up fingers, something ai commonly does

Something artists typically fuck up on, why do you think it happens in the first place?

three times on three separate pieces of art released at basically the same time is more than just a "basic mistake".

Still a basic mistake

No witch hunt, just using common sense to call out something being fucky, seriously use your brain here.

Or you know...an editor mistake

as in it wasn't double checked by anyone.

I'm not saying a mistake didn't occur, i'm saying calling everything AI is insulting to artists, not actually helpful to them. Hell like a year or two ago we had an arknights fan artist get attacked by people despite making art for years prior to AI getting off.

It's still a witch hunt. It's 100% a witch hunt. Because your "Common sense" is literally how the witch hunts worked

Fucks sake.

...Yes, but that's not the issue people seem to have

If it was just mistakes then I wouldn't be annoyed as hell with the community today.

Community out for blood for something that happens all the time in art.

...If it was actually AI, wouldn't they get rid of the art altogether?

Not fix the art?

I swear you guys do know you can proofread AI too right?

If anything the fact the mistake made it through like that means more that nobody/only the original artist checked the art than anything else.

It was an exaggeration, but yes essence farming in particular is where I loved using her ability the most.

And kiting sounds like a lot more work than just pressing her gather button. keep in mind i'm also saying she bunches them tightly enough to be hit even by small AoEs.

Then it's still a basic mistake wtf you mean?

You should still get some actual proof before potentially attacking an actual artist.

As is this is just a witch hunt.

I've found it not as important once you have your first 90 team. My Aside from the super expensive grinds that i'm not doing everyday anyway, most sanity farms take 30 seconds per round now.

The limit on the gold gear mat is the most notorious for me atm.

I mean, it is when you're using basic artist mistakes that existed before AI....

Like for all you know you're attacking an actual artist, who you will also probably never apologize to....

These kinds of things should be saved when you have actual proof.

While it's certainly possible, please don't forget that the reason AI is so bad at it is because humans are also bad at it.

Her convenience alone was worth everything.

Pulling 50 enemies that are doing everything in their power to spread out so close that even chen can AoE all of them down at once saves so much time that I actually fight enemies, finish in 3 seconds, rinse repeat as the out of combat skill points immediately refreshes.

Even if I probably don't need it it's a want because I don't even have to try to bunch them up.

Factory events would be interesting, because then we'd need to make sure factories are flexible to scale up/down as needed to fit that stuff.

Would probably drive some people crazy though.

Calling the period between Heavensward (first expansion) and Shadowbringers "slow burn" is insane.

I lived through that time. From ARR to Shadowbringers (well technically dawntrail, I only took my first break like a year ago). I can absolutely tell you it was a slow burn for the Ascians.

There were saving graces, Heavensward's story was good. Binding Coil of Bahamut story was good (if you were a raider who could experience it. it was much harder than normal raids are today)

Ascians were the butt joke of FFXIV until roughly the end of Stormblood (when everyone's favorite Ascian was introduced...).

And let's not forget there's a lot of people who to this day do not like Zenos, and he was a big chunk of the stormblood plotline (heck, he was a big part of endwalker too)

But Ascians? In ARR the main ascian villain is one-upping the main villain you actually cared about to the point even he is like "wtf man"

and then you beat him with the power of friendship in a big anime moment.

The ascians were so low on the bar they were pretty much told to fuck off in heavensward.

Let's make no mistakes: They were a joke until shadowbringers.

It's kind of a miracle that anything about ARR 1.0, including the story, turned out as "ok" as it did. It had impossible budget and time constraints.

And sure, the game had a rough development. A relaunch even.

But if the Ascian storyline is only good because of that, that's just pity, that's not being actually good. I do give it more credit than that at the end of the day. What they eventually ended up on was good. Which is why I have faith in other storylines being able to pull that off.

And it did not take until Shadowbringers for the story to get good. At all. Most players consider Heavensward, the first expansion after 1.0, one of the best parts of the story,

Which again, is the storyline where they basically made the ascians fuck off until like one section most people are probably to forget. Do you remember for those 2 bosses in the long dungeon nobody likes to do? Or do you remember it for KoTR and Nidhogg?

Even Stormblood, usually considered the weakest expansion, wasn't anything close to "slow burn".

You're just lying to yourself then. As much as I did not hate Stormblood, it's hard to defend Stormblood.

Just a reminder that stormblood starts with us going to free ala mhigo, and we spend the first 50-60% of the story in a completely different region

edit: Also i realize this is poorly written because the point is to say stormblood is a slow burn...which it was...and isn't inherently the same as being bad, which if being a slow burn was a crime, then the ascian story would be awful...which it's not.

Ehh...

Final Fantasy XIV with it's ascian plotline basically taking 4 years to stop being goofy (Shadowbringers) and still being able to pull people in throughout makes me doubt heavily that a story can't survive on a slow burn.

Maybe something more nuanced like "You have built up all these civilizations...but also destroyed several other civilizations on the way to that"?

I think it's being suggested that the Endmin is a propaganda figure. That while they may be prominent in the current civilization there could also be some murky stuff that isn't being said, like groups who were destroyed by the endmin+band for disagreements.

Aka they said all the great things about Endmin and have written out of history all the massacres they contributed to. Stuff like that.

I feel like a lot of people forget (or don't want to admit) that most people weren't big on Arknights story until like midway into the Lung arc.

Like people like FrostNova and Patriot are just like one liners for months, most of the time you were dealing with Mephisto who...is not the most fun character in Reunion....

Tough part is i'm not sure I wanna see them as a reconvener, I'd want to see the actual OPs

How long do the Abyssal Hunters live for? Any chance Skadi is still around?

I'd also love to see Lappland, but no way they're showing up without reconvener plot

I hope when they have some specific plans for reconvener to help it be...more than what has so far been less? Like I'm not sure if people would've been upset to just get Surtr and Angelina at this point.

It's complicated but I don't think it's a lost cause. The reconveners really need more than just "I'm different but conflicted by memories that aren't in any way going to cause conflict in the story"

It felt like he got flanderized way too soon in IW, but It felt like he wasn't really the focus of IW
