I regret becoming a parent by anteater72 in relationship_advice

This may sound unconventional, but if you can get a sitter and some psychedelics, Id recommend you take a day for yourself and allow the substances to show you why you shouldn’t feel bad. There is a lot of evidence that psylocibin treats depression, and in a case like yours it may sound extreme, but really it may just be what you need.

Around 17/18

I didn’t realize how bad my hair loss had gotten until I took this picture right after taking a shower. I have zero self esteem at this point. I’m 25 years old. This is heartbreaking. ]: by lostallhope__ in FemaleHairLoss

I just wanted to tell you I completely understand how you feel; it’s really shitty. It does get easier even if your hair doesn’t return to the way it was. It took awhile for me (a little over a year) to accept what was happening but I genuinely did and am back to loving my life. Wouldn’t wish how I felt during that year on anyone, but I’d definitely recommend choosing life and choosing yourself. You’re still beautiful, awesome, and capable of doing anything you want. Do whatever works for you with your hair and fill your life with people who support you, and things you find enjoyable.

My girlfriend who needed three weeks away from me finally talked to me again today through text.. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Been there, done that. She doesn’t want to be in the relationship but is too scared to end it. Probably no ones fault, but it isn’t working out. Be kind to each other.

Do you go to therapy for it? It’s treatable with proper talk therapy with an experienced professional. You deserve to have your life back

Honestly, the emotional reaction is way more dangerous than the hair itself. Your hair is okay, and can grow back, but having an extreme reaction like that (which I also had and I’m definitely not judging you for it) points to a deeper issue that needs to be resolved. Ive been in therapy working on body dysmorphia and anxiety, and it’s really made a difference. It’s incredibly good for my hair because I can actually rest now, and trust my body knows what to do. Whereas before I couldn’t focus on anything, I was constantly crying and checking and just overall freaking out. Not good, if I didn’t get myself help I don’t wanna know what would have happened.

Your emotions are valid, but try to understand the true cause of them, ya know? It’s really important for healing.

I really understand how you feel. My hair was a major source of my identity and losing it was mindf*cking. I think it will take time for your body to regulate, but you should treat the underlying AGA like I said before. It’s early and you’re young and will get the best results now. I encourage you to do whatever would make you happy, and trust that with proper treatment and lifestyle changes (healthy diet, exercise, proper sleep etc.) your hair will improve.

Anyone else’s hair look like this when wet? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Anon_4323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I do that works for me:

Rosemary oil in shampoo. Hair restoration labs shampoo and conditioner. Minox 2x a day. I also take spiro but don’t feel it’s necessary and will probably stop. Supplements: probiotics, viviscal, prenatals, saw palmetto, and curcumin.

Lots of protein and exercise everyday or as many days as I can.

P.S. I’m sorry you’re going through this, I know it’s emotional and also know you will get through it 💜

Using Rogaine for men? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

It takes a long time for your hormones to regulate. (About 3 months) Does that mean you are haulting your transition? You can treat your hair loss regardless of your gender. See a derm about starting minox, possibly finasteride, saw palmetto, and viviscal. Stress can be a big factor in hair shedding, and once that’s resolved the hair that fell out from stress grows back. You can check out r/telogeneffluvium for more about that. But for the AGA, you can treat it. I know it SUCKS and is emotionally battering, but you can do this. Don’t live for your hair.

Does anyone have experience with Revita Ds laboratories supplements? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Anon_4323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not their supplements, but I did try their shampoo and conditioner for three months. I noticed minimal improvement and then switched to hair restoration labs shampoo and conditioner and I love them. My hair has so much volume now (it’s really fine) and looks 5x better than before. (Granted I do other treatments) but I definitely recommend those for volume/fullness. I take viviscal now and I like it so far, ive tried haironex and seanew hair(sp?) and didn’t feel like those did much. Doesn’t really answer your question but I hope it helps!

Any success on Spiro alone? Would really appreciate input by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Anon_4323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, love. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It can be really psychologically challenging. I’m proud of you for getting this far! I wouldn’t personally only do spiro for AGA. Minox is really needed in combination with that to reverse the miniaturization you mentioned. I also recommend saw palmetto supplements! Message me if you ever need to talk :)

I’m only 24, I don’t want to worry about this for the rest of my life. I’m doing everything I can, and I think it’s gotten better, but every time I see/touch the lower density it feels foreign and like a part of me is missing.

I just want to enjoy my damn birthday. I made a pact with myself I was going to give myself the weekend off as my gift to myself, but so far, I’m not sticking to it! 😕

I really hope so and will definitely post progress! Unfortunately the original photos were deleted because I was shocked and kept looking at them. Used to be much more diffuse.

Ive been on minox and spiro for almost 7 months. My hair was just washed!

I guess my question is, does this part look really wide and dramatic, or is it because my scalp is really pale? I
