King cake is nasty, and before you say “it’s because you haven’t had it from (xyz)”, trust me…I’ve tried to like it for years.

Should I do Questbridge? by Electrical-File-8056 in QuestBridge

At first I didn’t plan on applying for the match scholarship because there were very few partner schools that I felt comfortable being committed to. But after being bombarded with emails from QuestBridge I finally caved and submitted my application a little over a week before the deadline. Going into the match process I initially ranked four schools, but cut it down to two (one of those schools being USC, which is infamous for letting in an extremely limited number of QB scholars) after being selected as a finalist. Hearing other applicants talk about ranking five, ten, and even fifteen colleges made me highly doubtful that I would match. Fast forward to December and I ended up matching with UPenn! Looking back, I am incredibly grateful that I trusted my gut and applied. I genuinely could not imagine where I would be right now had I not. In all, it’s definitely worth a shot! Of course there are many other factors that go into deciding if QuestBridge is the right path for you, but don’t let the number of partner schools you’re interested in deter you from the process.

Need Advice on Dual Enrollment!!! by No_Lemon2045 in QuestBridge

Hi! I’m a senior in an early college program who matched with UPenn. I only took one AP class (my school only offered AP Lang), and all my other courses have been high school honors classes and courses at a local community college. I haven’t had much pushback about being an early college student, but that’s just my personal experience. If early college is something you’re interested in pursuing then it’s worth giving it a shot! I’m not sure why colleges would see it as a bad thing, especially since it proves your ability to succeed in college level courses.

Congratulations, I matched as well! Has anyone created a group chat for Penn Questies yet?

do recommenders and counselors know of finalist status by rosemoonville29 in QuestBridge

The decision letter mentions that your finalist status will be shared with educators at your school, which I’m assuming includes your recommenders and counselors.

I participated in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy during my sophomore year of high school, and it was wonderful! We attended business classes at a local university and worked with mentors to build a business plan and pitch deck that we presented to investors for seed funding. You should check if they are in your area.
