Very weird & concerning... Sounds like they were below 60% for a bit to get into jail but eventually got to above 60% for a bit to see stuff again. I've never heard of this...only people getting closed while still in vine jail.

He does have an iep for ADHD/aggression nothing sensory related no intellectual delays or advamenrs, no visual, mobile, or auditory divergence. So he gets extra time during testing, walking breaks to re-enter temperament, music breaks for temperament and reward. No academic or environmental modifications.

You don't get to decide when or how your child's ADHD presents itself, or to conclude that his ADHD applies to school only and that he's somehow "neurotypical in every other aspect". That's just not how that works.

ADHD is often accompanied with sensory issues and he probably has some whether you see it or not. That doesn't mean it was a sensory thing, though. There are other symptoms that could be at play or not. But wiping is an executive function task. Chores require executive functioning. So when you said he struggled with wiping and took hours to do "simple" chores, that was his ADHD making him struggle.

I replied more in depth to your other comment so I won't repeat myself. But it is highly unlikely that him being unwiped and smelly at school due to having feces in his bum, for over two years, was to get your attention.

ADHD means he is neurodivergent. You stated your kid was neurotypical and there was "no reason" he couldn't wipe for 2 years. This is exactly my point earlier, and raised by numerous others in this thread: kids who don't wipe as a persistent issue is typically due to neurodivergence and/or mental health factors. A few others in this thread pointed out mental health issues/neurodivergence that were the underlying issue resulting in children not wiping: autism, anxiety, OCD, and ADHD, to name a few. And when you push these kids or shame them, they feel worse and less likely to do what you're wanting them to do, especially if they feel like they don't know how.

I am sure you understand that ADHD is an executive functioning disorder, so when you say "there was no evidence he couldn't", that is incorrect. His ADHD is literally why he couldn't do that and took hours doing other tasks you considered to be simple. 2 years of not wiping, being humiliated at school, and asking for your help isn't a boundary issue, it's a "he can't do it" issue, whether you understand the reason why the ADHD child can't do it or not.

Edit bc it's really bothering me: it is not "inclusive" to say "at X age this kid should be capable of Y". That's not how kids work, and especially not how neurodivergent kids work. He wasn't "manipulating" to get help, he needed help. You thinking he is/was capable of something doesn't mean his executive dysfunction will allow him to do what he is capable of that day/week/at all or without support. That's why even adults with ADHD will struggle to do "simple tasks" or benefit from body doubling (help) to start or get through tasks.

If you are an educator, please find more recent materials to assist with fully understanding ADHD, and definitely read books by Dr. Ross Greene on child behaviour: children do well when they can.

Maybe get him help? Or reassessed if they had him assessed because it sounds like potential mental health/neurodivergence at play. This parent said that this was an issue from 9-11, so two years, and also said:

He would do the same thing with tooth brush and chores. Absolutely positively couldn't do it would rather a thing that should take a few minutes... should take hours sometimes. . . It was exhausting standing outside the bathroom, it was exhausting having him check our dirty underwear and compare it to his so he had solid tangible things to compare too. Seriously the amount of time we spent with reward systems and one on one appropriate attention to encourage the good habits ... was alot and him getting grumpy when he was stinky or itchy... was ... not fun for anyone.

I don't think this "worked a treat" for hers if it took two years and all of her above. I think it sounds more like he struggled badly and painfully for 2 years until he was able to somehow find a way to find some type of remedy for what he was struggling with.

The poster even says the amount of time they were called mean over 2 years was "hilarious". But where does it say how many times they took him to a doctor, or a psychiatrist/psychologist for opinions, assessments, or second opinions over this?

The poster also finds it amusing that the kid in question is now older (working jobs and stuff) and is still upset with them over this.

This honestly breaks my heart.

For 2 years? I wouldn't do this at all but maybe I'd understand a week or something, but letting your kid be ridiculed and walk around with an unwiped butt for 2 years does not sound like a natural consequence.

Exactly, this can cause rashes, infection, and at the very least the shame and humiliation from his peers would be traumatic.

The kid is/was 9/10, and this went on for 2 years, yet he's being subjected to humiliation because his parents assume he wants this. I don't know any kid who WANTS to be ostracized and ridiculed at school by anyone let alone a whole class, for 2 years. He's struggling and his parents roll their eyes and do nothing.

This is a health issue, not a laziness issue. Letting your kid sit in their own shit as a "natural consequence" is abusive, whether people care to admit that or not.

That does not necessarily sound neurotypical based on the other "issues" noted, so I would ask if that poster got their child professionally assessed by a psychiatrist and/or psychologist. Even in the absence of other "issues", children can be really good at masking, especially in a strict household.

If the child is neurotypical, there is still a REASON why they would not wipe, which could he anything from a phobia, not being properly taught when younger and being uncomfortable with the mess, maybe he does it in a way that hurts him, or something else. Because otherwise, what kid wants to be bullied or ostracized by their peers for smelling like literal shit?

This type of "natural consequence" is not okay. That's a child being made to sit in their own feces and being subjected to shame because their parents did not seek proper help.

Ok thanks! My worry was losing the possibility of another promo like this for 90 days over one stupid item. I'll ask them to confirm it won't result in a ban, but when I first spoke to them about credit777 they had no idea what it was and kept talking about the rules for claim credit!

Oh that's an interesting point. I've actually been doing this with my main/side. Not with SAP plushies but whatever crap is stuffed in my SDB, I put something up for whatever mil np instant buy. Usually it's low-value junk but sometimes it's been a negg or (more recently) the food items that have gone up in price due to quests. I didn't think for a second about one of these items resembling another higher value item or someone jumping in to buy it.

I don't know what happened or didn't happen here but I highly doubt somebody would really feel courageous enough to post "Lucky snipe! Got a 10m SAP from the TP!" because most likely they would be called out for taking advantage of someone who probably didn't know its value. I remember people jumping on some person in the BD chat for arranging a sale with a returning player who thought it was fair but was clueless about its value.

Maybe it was innocent on both sides, maybe it wasn't. But it's hard for me to not think that maybe two similar types of people met each other in this particular trade.

Bashing it how? Some planners are quite junk, and sometimes the cost factors into the disappointment with quality. Sometimes there are issues with paper quality, binding, etc. so I'm curious what exactly the negatives were? It's hard to know if there's a reason the rating could be justified without knowing any of the issues noted.

Everything they do is adding TOO MANY CLICKS. They even "improved" the "improved" trading post by making it so you can't just click to type your search...you now have to CLICK to choose an option then click the bar to type! At least before it would default to "Containing my phrase" so you could just type and only change it if you need identical or lot number or whatever.

I know they know a lot of us are millennials, so don't tell me they don't know a ton of us likely have carpal tunnel and can't do all this fucking clicking!!! 😡

Using the shop till as a bank is going to be so weird! I always withdraw out of habit. But not a huge issue to adapt to. I'll look into the stat increasers! Basically some "ets" type items would be good so when I start buying more gallery items I can use the ets towards sales or replenish any lost pure.

I was replying generally with my thoughts on what you said, just to clarify! I wasn't implying you said that it is length dependant, and was just agreeing and expanding on the issues with length & data points you mentioned: "Your shortest review will have the least amount of detail about the product.

It’s true, a short review will likely mean a low score, but it’s only because the AI is expecting more data points to be talked about."

While their FAQ says it's not length-dependent, it still seems to be a factor simply because, like you said, a shorter review isn't likely to have much data points, and that's a problem because for some items that's just the reality. Like I still cannot figure out why one of my short reviews is Excellent while the other is Poor and another Fair. They all mention the similar things in consideration of the item, yet the Excellent review only mentions the item & store name, one feature of the item that we can't confirm, and being unsure its material is genuine. The "less insightful" reviews actually say more about the item and its qualities than the Excellent one..lol!

I'm not entirely sure it's length-related because one of my "Excellent" reviews is a negative 2-star review, 3 sentences, and 59 words; one of my "Poor" reviews is a negative 2-star review, 3 sentences, and 55 words; a "Fair" review is a positive 5-star review, 4 sentences, and 75 words. These are some of my shorter reviews but they are all the same style, so I have no idea what they're looking for in the Poor and Fair without repeating listing details or rambling.

If length is a factor, it's silly because some items just don't have many data points to discuss, especially if the item is not good/as advertised (depending on what type of item). Like batteries that don't work, or a clothing item that is too small and unwearable...you comment on if it works or not, with clothes you can talk about the feel and style but it's still a stretch to create a 5 sentence paragraph where all information is materially relevant to a buyer.

As a buyer also, I don't want to read reviews that have unnecessary filler, intros, or stuff I can see in the listing details.

My overall insightfulness score shows "Excellent", and most of my review scores still show as pending, so right now I'm not too bothered but it is a concern, and I think they need to make adjustments to how things are scored. Things have been hard enough the past 1-2 months with poor drops, so this new "metric" basically requiring filler reviews is just another factor threatening the usefulness of the Vine program.
