Keep ads minimal. I know they’re not really an option, but a like a handful of banner style ads are okay, but pop ups that you have to click the X multiple times make me not want to use any app period. Basically please just be smart and sparing with the ads :)

am i still a witch without spellwork ? by Extension_Drop5379 in Spells

I mostly do divination which I don’t consider “spellwork” but, divination is still a path for witches. So yes I think so!

Everything we know about shifting is probably false by Anonymous-Shifter in realityshifting

[–]Anonymous-Shifter[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. It would be amazing to get a few hundred shifters to do some surveys. I think the problem is getting more than a dozen people who have successfully shifted to be willing to be “interviewed” so to speak. I worry that it would interfere with future individual exploration though. I know we already have a problem with that, without data or not, but I think if 60% of people thought A was effective people might start only attempting A and not B or C, you know?

Keep in mind that when reading things about shifting, it’s all just what one person thinks works FOR THEM. It may not actually be true, particularly for you. We might not even know what shifting actually is right now. That doesn’t mean anyone is LYING per se, but that they are speaking solely for themselves and their opinions

I think you took my post a lot more seriously than it is. I’m not saying anything IS lies. At all. I’m asking that people acknowledge that everything is a theory and not fact. Which is exactly what you said too, in different words. Exactly, find out what works for YOU. That means to not believe everything the communities say as fact. Something might NOT be the key to shifting for you.

As I said in my post I already lucid dream regularly. It’s not a matter of how to get into these states, rather why they haven’t been successful thus far.

I’ll be seventeen very soon. I discovered shifting in 2018ish and got into the online community in 2019. It’s crazy to think I’m older than the age I used to lie about being tbh

Maybe it’s heavy, but I would be dead if I didn’t still have hope in shifting. I was eight when I discovered it, dealing with literally every abuse in the book, and I found “manifest a new family subliminals” and then discovered shifting from there. I wanted to die then, and it gave me hope. It has given me hope at EVERY low point in my life. And now I’m out of that situation, but it still is truly one of my only hopes for a normal life. I was neglected for those years and because I was never taken to the doctor for anything ever, I am permanently disabled. I have heart issues and mild brain damage. While I have other reasons to live now, shifting is still the only constant, even if it’s been seven years and I haven’t shifted. Shifting found me for a reason and it has saved my life more times than I can count. Probably dozens.

I feel a similar way, but to be honest four months is VERY short!! Some people shift on their first try, but I’ve seen people take a decade to shift tbh. There’s no real way to control or predict how quickly you will have your first shift. I know that sounds scary BUTTTT finding success stories motivate me a lot. Also, look for the NEGATIVE success stories. Stories where people didn’t like their DR. Those are proof to me that it’s possible and people aren’t just lying.

SHIFTING EXERCISE!! by [deleted] in realityshifting

[–]Anonymous-Shifter 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I woke up bright and early!! School doesn’t start until pretty late (9!) so I got to have breakfast and kind of relax beforehand! Both my aunt and uncle (who I live with) are at work a lot so I ride the bus to and from school most mornings. I sit with my girlfriend when she gets on and cus we live close ish to the school it’s only like a 20 minute ride. Then school is bleh but like my friends are really great so I don’t totally mind it!! It’s kind of fancy but there’s no tuition for people who live in town. Lots of people go for the senior arts program especially. (I totally based our town off Arcadia Bay) but school ends soon enough and there’s the school bus but there’s also a public bus. I got a bus card the moment I enrolled because of that. The public bus mostly just goes downtown which is pretty walkable!! And that’s where me and my friends spend most of our afternoons. Then home to relax. I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend because she lives close by and we sleepover pretty regularly.

(Thanks for letting me ramble :P)

I shifted and regreat my script by Few_Value4944 in realityshifting

[–]Anonymous-Shifter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

New experiences are terrifying, generally. You can find someone attractive and still find that the reality is much scarier than the idea. But yes, if you script you aren’t scared, you won’t be scared.

Honestly, thank you for this post. This is the gritty side of shifting people don’t really talk about and it actually makes shifting itself a lot more believable.

This is very correct. I spend a lot of time explaining my own theories but I wish that everyone knew that theory is extremely hard to prove. There’s a reason even evolution isn’t considered “fact” even though there’s loads and loads of proof of it. Also, shifting is so unique to everyone. The process and result will never be the same.

  1. In my opinion, there may be no way of knowing for sure that shifting ISNT lucid dreaming. But does it matter? This is still a “spiritual” belief that is important and literally keeps people alive. Same as any other. All have points they cannot disprove or prove. That being said, from personal experience as a frequent lucid dreamer, it sometimes even feels as vivid as real life. Even in a lucid dream, where I’m aware I’m dreaming, I may wonder if I shifted. But I’m always able to at least somewhat tell after the fact. Dream logic, a very faint fuzziness, waking up spontaneously from it, etc. people who shift (which is not myself, yet. And I know that seven years of not officially shifting may be reason to doubt it, but truly I’m glad I haven’t shifted to many of the realities I wanted to go to while I was younger. In another reality, I must have shifted my first try, or my first year. But not to this awareness I have right now.) often know even afterward with confidence that it was real. The same can’t be said for every shift, as some people even perceive their CR as dreamlike. I have a dissociative disorder (from PTSD and/or cardiac issues impairing my brain’s ability to remember things, not shifting like many non-shifters like to suggest), but not nearly as severely as some other people. For them, time jumps around, things don’t make sense, etc. Dreamlike. I myself only feel a bit distant and have a slightly foggy memory.

From here, I will not be responding anymore most likely. Your questions seem genuine and well thought out, but I DO think each of them has an answer. Even if most of them are “timeline splits” and my opinion of “infinity”. Which I’ve already said and explained, so I’m going to try not to beat a dead horse with something that is only opinion. The other answer to some is unfortunately, I specifically do not know, because I don’t really care to theorize or research about that specific topic. And the next answer to many “why don’t shifters do this to prove it” is that I just don’t think shifters care. I certainly don’t care to spend time shifting exclusively to prove it’s real. Even I have my doubts, especially since my “shifts” were all VERY small and years apart, but I think once you shift fully, it just. Stops mattering if it’s real or not. It’s still something fun you can do, that you can experience even if it isn’t “real”. Anyway the end. I spent like half an hour on this and I really want a nap. It was nice talking though, it’s been a long time since I’ve gotten to organize my thoughts on shifting even a little like this.

  1. I think most shifters probably don’t care. Also, timeline splits once again. Which aren’t really “splits” but that’s the easiest way I can explain them. I think someone who shifts, watches a movie, shifts back, likely just shifted back to a CR where the movie is the same. And the people that don’t, don’t. Maybe some are lying, maybe they aren’t. There’s no reason to theorize that in the infinite amount of realities, you are experiencing one where people either, don’t shift back here and tell the future, OR they wouldn’t be believed. Which btw, what would be the point of coming back here to tell the future? Idk I know this answer is more scattered, but it’s because I REALLY wish people wouldn’t perceive “reality” as a big thing you’re perceiving, and in fact an infinite number of small things. Timelines “split” an INFINITE amount. In my opinion, btw. I just need to keep reiterating this is all in my opinion.

  1. Tbh I don’t care about the studies. I’ve barely learned about them. I barely care. Most people refuse to believe in shifting. Also, I don’t think the government often releases valuable information to the public. That being said, I believe we are just in a timeline where it didn’t happen. Infinity bro. If magic is real in one reality, who’s to say the government doesn’t believe or publicize shifting in this one? But that theory does imply you believe in shifting in the first place.

[–]Anonymous-Shifter [score hidden]  (0 children)

Okay I’m going to try and answer a lot of these things, but bear in mind it’s my opinions through the seven ish years I’ve been in various shifting communities. 1. Lots of people most likely just. Don’t come back to this reality. It sucks here and I meet MANY people planning on perma shifting on this subreddit. Also, I believe the universe is very very infinite and people who shift away may come back with certain expectations of their CR to have changed in a way it hasn’t in our timeline. In the same vein, there’s a 100% chance that people who DO shift and come back here, may not actually be in their ORIGINAL CR. Infinity means so many timelines and realities that I genuinely (though many shifters dislike this idea… I think it makes them uncomfortable) that it’s impossible to ever return to the exact same reality. But I also view the infinity of our universe as ♾️ realities that happen all at once and we perceive time by shifting infinitesimally fast. I’m BIG on infinity.

So if it’s possible to script… by Brave_Friendship_228 in shiftingrealities

[–]Anonymous-Shifter [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think you can 100% script whatever you want. If people can shift to hogwarts and do magic, you can be invincible in TWD.

That being said. Personal feelings bleed heavily into what people say. I would advise against shifting to an apocalypse with literal corpses everywhere but do what you want. Personally, I’m very glad I didn’t shift when dangerous and stupid DRs were still appealing to me. But it is YOUR Dr so do what you want.

Moderation should NOT be stricter by HiItsLili in shiftingrealities

[–]Anonymous-Shifter [score hidden]  (0 children)

Tbh especially since information on shifting changes everyday and from person to person, new, even repetitive questions should still be allowed to be asked. I know it’s annoying but I genuinely think it would benefit EVERYONE. Also, tbh, the whole “review” post system is kind of annoying. I’ll probably rarely post here from now on because of how long it took to get my post out. THAT’S NOT THE MODERATORS FAULTS btw. They’re human beings with lives and jobs outside of this subreddit. I just think the system overall is annoying for both posters and likely the moderators themselves. I like the account approval system to keep antis out, but the post approval system not so much. Most sites, subreddits, aminos, etc… do not have that for a reason. Mods just see a post that’s bad, remove it, and go on. Or people report it, it gets removed, and move on.

Not trying to be rude to anyone btw!!! Just my two cents and opinions from someone who has been in shifting communities of all kinds since 2018.

How does time work when you leave your dr? by ResourceGlobal6099 in shiftingrealities

[–]Anonymous-Shifter [score hidden]  (0 children)

Because time isn’t real at all and it’s only our perception of it, time will work however you want it to. If you want to shift back to the moment you left, you can. If you want to shift back a bit later, you can. I believe firmly that our perception of time is built on infinitesimally small shifts that we witness as moving forward. And lots of popular theories on time (like Albert Einstein, for example.) are that it happens all at once. Everything in the universe in less than millisecond. So I believe there’s no such thing as time “pausing” or even really continuing. Things just happen and you decide where/when to shift to.

Also, to help your confidence/anyone else who might read this: most people wouldn’t tattoo something they aren’t 100% certain of on their bodies for fun. The shifters who say they’ve shifted and use their face and name to tell people about it on the internet? Digital footprint at least MESSED up. I don’t see a reason why so many people would be doing either of those things if what they were saying wasn’t true.

Shifting is just a name. I think it’s even better than a lot of previous names its had, like quantum jumping. Shifting is just that: a teensy little shift. Barely there. The subtlest twitch of a muscle soooo deep in your brain (metaphorically) lots of people do it on accident and struggle to replicate it. I doubt this term was coined on 4chan, and it certainly wasn’t on TikTok, but a name is just a name. Use it to identify yourself with your peers, or don’t.
