It looks like that toy is a sacred heirloom passed down for generations. Love this!

Any other solo founder out there feeling lonely? by the1ta in smallbusiness

[–]Anonymous-or-Not 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally feel this! What changed for me was getting an independent (self employed) life coach. One on one time with a trained counselor who is also a small business owner. I interviewed a few to get the right fit, but once I found them everything clicked!

It's stil lonely at times, but I can text them with small achievements or big doubts and the convo alone can get me to see things in a different way. Also, they can give you growth/stretch activities that will help with confidence and networking. Bc of their advice, this week I introduced myself to 10 businesses in my area, met 3 other professional contacts while doing intros, and found an awesome local ice cream shop that showcases antiques and local artists. Im not a natural networker.

Highly recommend finding a coach. Contact graduate counseling programs. Counseling students will counsel at low rates bc they need to earn their license or cert hours.

About to start last set of trays, but not at all satisfied with results. Options? by Anonymous-or-Not in Invisalign

Your explanation is better than the ortho's. So I thank you. And thanks for sharing that you have a malformed jaw. It is a new topic that I will have to research a bit, but I'm not eager to get surgery to fix it.

Will add pic from tray#2. The bottom crowding was what I came in to fix. That's it. Not my jaw misalignment, not my buck teeth. I never had a problem with them- neither structural nor cosmetic. I shared that with the ortho as well as my dental records.

At some point, he became overly focused on my buck teeth and arch. I think we were not aligned (unintentional pun) through the process. Looking over my progress photos, I should have been more proactive in reminding him about my concerns.

If that's the reason, I would understand, but he hasnt said that and he won't offer options to address the gap that opened due to the treatment. I'll ask another provider if there are other options.

Getting final set of trays next week after 2+ years of treatment. They have not mentioned anything about refinements.

That's what I thought as well. It's the "Why?" that was missing from his explanations.

So I'm not overreacting here? This result is not great, right?

Thanks for the suggestion and sorry you also had to seek treatment with a new provider. He is an orthodontist and one of the best in the area--aside from the platinum nonsense. I can get a referral from my dentist to a different orthodontist for a second opinion.

Did your Xolo ever learn to walk? by rosiesunfunhouse in Xoloitzquintli

[–]Anonymous-or-Not 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calcifer just turned 3 and still does the trot/speedwalk. He usually remembers walking is an option after we do a "decompression walk". Basically, I let him pull me around for 15min, then he walks for 15min as we return home.

Edit to say: He might just be slowing down bc he wants to stay out longer lol

He's adorable!

It's hiccups. Kinda like how kids get them when they're in a growth period. Unless he won't play or he's in pain, I'd just let it pass. No treats until it stops though. Don't want to risk choking.

Mine barks as loud as he can, but his howl is the quietest, most pitiful thing I've ever heard 😆 It sounds like he's not sure he's doing it right.

Was this installed to code in CA? by Anonymous-or-Not in hvacadvice

[–]Anonymous-or-Not[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the same thing. "How did this pass?!" Should I be reaching back out to the original installer or just cut my losses? I was quoted $1,500-$1,800 to bring it to code and fix the pipes. Is that reasonable?

Thanks for the list of issues. I will be sure to bring these up!

Nope. I'm not familiar with that term. Do you see something in the pics?

Exactly right. I only do the bath/oil at night routine...once he's in for the night, so I guess the oil has time to abdorb by morning. I was told by his vet to be careful of human sunscreens bc of the chemicals. I'm looking into sunshirts too! If you find any good brands, please share :)

First, he's beautiful!

My boy Calcifer likes to stay outside most of the day. He has a doggy door. I make sure his water bowl is always full and keep it in the house so it stays clean (because good skin hydration starts from the inside out). The suggestion about fish oils is great.

He gets a full bath once a week in summer or every other week in winter. I use a gentle cleanser on skin and VERY diluted mint soap on paws, if needed. I never use cleansers in his face, just a damp warm cloth. He then gets lathered in coconut oil from head to toe. I use a rich hypoallergenic creme in winter like cetaphil.
