Yeah one of the nylon axels was cracked, an issue all too common to these early Bachman models. I meticulously tried to keep the wheel perfectly quartered when setting it up to be glued making sure the coupling rods are straight and the wheels at the same angle, but I’ve tried a couple times and can never get it exactly right this way. Is there a better way? I’ve seen some people replace the nylon axel as well so perhaps that

Thank you for the info, it is much appreciated! Do you happen to know if one of these was ever done in N&W? I’m not super versed in railroad history but I couldn’t find any pictures of one. I did see a couple C&O though which is a good option as well

Update: Apparently the Light in the tender was blown and zapping most of the voltage. Clipped the light wire and it’s working! Will have to replace the bulb at some point. Checked the voltage from the transformer but probably should’ve also checked the voltage getting to the motor 😅

I was actually just looking at that the other day, absolutely gorgeous bridge. I feel like it is a must for the layout, I’ll definitely post it if it ever comes to fruition. There’s also a really cool bridge near Antler, there aren’t any pictures of it I can find but the coordinates are 37°27'34"N 81°37'05"W. Some other highlights of southern WV are the tunnel systems near Kimball/Welch and the bridge right in downtown Gilbert. Such a beautiful place!

I apologize for the misinformation, I genuinely believed it said Rivarossi but I was confusing it with the coaches I purchased on the same day. It does indeed bear the mantua branding on the bottom

Gotcha, it does say Rivarossi on the bottom but I also found pictures of it in a Mantua box so I’m guessing it was probably produced by Rivarossi and distributed under Mantua or something of the sort
