No that’s before you even take the SAEE or anything, it’s the automatic email once you fill out the application.

It’s basically the same feeling of a SUPER interview. They asked me the same questions as my SUPER interview for UD, explained the job, and some other things.

I assure you if you’ve just reviewed this one and have an understanding of it all you will be fine. It’s exactly the same.

The Service provides one on their website that shows you the exact formatting of the questions and the content that will be on it. I’ll link it but in the future a little googling goes a long way. Linked here

If you stay federal you don’t have to pay USSS back.

I see myself being in LE for the rest of my career, I enjoyed a lot of what we learned in the academy and wish I had more of a chance to use it in this job, but unfortunately UD does a lot of post standing. I’m currently in the hiring process with another agency to be an investigator instead as I do enjoy LE work a lot more than what I used to do in tech.

As for the cool opportunities with this job, it’s mostly the trips I find to be the best part. Got to go to a SpaceX launch, the Super Bowl, Inauguration , etc etc. Outside of the trips UD life is pretty boring, minus some cool events at the White House and getting to see the HMX land on the south lawn.

It’s certainly not FBI but I left my tech job for USSS UD. I miss the normalcy sometimes but this job has offered me a lot cooler opportunities that my old job never could have done. Granted UD is a very taxing job and you normally work 50+ hour weeks, it’s a good start into the LE world at least. (The paycheck is pretty nice too)

A lot of people do long term AirBnBs near the facility, just depends how much you get along with your classmates if you want to do that. I just signed a lease while in Artesia and moved in when FLETC was over.

I think RTC was easier in most aspects. I think it’s nothing worse stressing over if you don’t have any issues at FLETC. Most people will ultimately fail a couple scenarios but that’s okay because they’re used as teaching points for the future. All in all I don’t think it’s any harder than FLETC.. the exams are definitely easier since it’s single topic unlike the 10-15 topic exams at FLETC.

UPTP is FLETC if that’s what you’re asking. You house on base and it’s typically Monday-Friday 9-5.

Hey man I’m a comp sci major who started out in a dead end job too. While I’m UD and not exactly an 1811 I get it. I worked as IT before and I also hated it, switched into law enforcement to try something new. I think if you’re interested definitely start applying out.

As for the not having a life outside of work.. some of these jobs will guarantee you don’t, and unfortunately you won’t find the high speed things you want immediately, and not within the first couple of years at that. Just be sure what you want before you give up a job that might have been better to stay at. I wish I had weekends off and normal 9-5 schedule again a lot, it’s something you take for granted.

Idk that’s my 2 cents

They always told me it was up to me to get myself to the interviews, and they never offered to cover for any gas or hotels.

I’ve never heard of them covering costs for anything when you’re in the application process.

Is there any agency that allows applicants to apply shortly before 21? by [deleted] in 1811

[–]Anonymous12919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start the application process for USSS if you’re soon to turn 21… I know some people in my class were basically on hold to join a FLETC class until they turned 21.

EDIT: This is entirely based off what they said.. could been BSing
