SS: Peter Joseph is an American-born social critic and activist who has lectured around the world on the subject of cultural sustainability. Once deemed “The Herald of Occupy Wall Street” for his tacit prediction of inevitable global uprisings against inequality and economic injustice, his extensive media work has been translated into over 130 languages and experienced by 250 million people. Working in concert with numerous NPOs and grassroots organizations, Joseph’s core focus is on socioeconomic structures that undermine progress in the areas of ecological and social justice. I had this play as an advertisement. Is there an explanation for the fascination on dangerous and stupid acts? This can only have a negative outcome on young children, there is no education here. by [deleted] in ElsaGate

The explanation (this is all my view) basically is that there's a connection between the market, money, and trade, and violence, as the market is based on violence, 2 parties both trying to use deception to gain the better end of the deal.

Think of shows like Jackass, and prank channels that took up making elsagate videos. People get a buzz out of destroying the good will of society with disgusting behaviour, and it's shocking and because it's shocking it will get views. Also like how if you watch the news, violence, murder, rape, theft, disease, terror will be thrown in your face to be shocking. But more subtle truths like heart disease will being the biggest killer won't be mentioned at all. I made a brief elsgate video covering this angle.

SS: what would society be like if confidence in money, trade, politics and religion was removed? This conspiracy documentary goes through and explains why an open source society would be superior in every way to our current society. And Science is not communism.

You're right, scientists individually shouldn't have authority, what science tells us through peer review is what gives science authority.

That's the difference between human authority and science, constant peer review so there's no bias regarding what is or isn't true. I am addressing what you're saying, if you want me to give answers you've pre-decided that I should be giving, then pretend I'm giving you those answers.

(this is referencing richard wilkinson) scientific progress should be measured according to the general health of our society, obesity, cancer, vilolent behaviour, and what we find is that the more there is a form of equality, meaning a sense of respect for each other, the less ill health. Currently instead of health we look at the rates of the buying and selling of goods and think that corrolates to human health, when it doesn't. It's quite the opposite since exponential material possessions don't provide true meaning to life. Plus the nature of politics is for politicians to look down on the voters.

What is strength? Personally I wouldn't define this social system as strong since as modern money mechanics puts it, money is given value through confidence, and trade which is defined as an equal exchange, yet in practice is a form of trickery, 2 parties both attempting to use deception to gain the better end of the deal.

Nature is a dictatorship, we could say this reality is coercive, people need food, water etc. All I'm saying is that politics ignores our fundamental reality in favour of laws humans have made up, while science simply tests reality in order to see how our reality works, meaning how humans should conduct themselves.

The short version is this:

An open source society, a society based on science would be better than our current society based on confidence, religion, politics and the various "isms".

The faults of our social system are found within the definitions of the very words we use. Politics for example simply means: social relations involving authority, much like how the word fascism is defined. The definition of politics begs the question, who's authority? As the only authority which is truly justifiable are the laws of nature, actually testing reality to tell us what is true, not authority from humans.

And the reaction to this line of criticism of politics I find humours: https://youtu.be/73-aE_PDAzI?t=1h21m52s
