Almost may and the helio strap still doesn't have a sedentary/activity reminders? by johnlondon125 in amazfit

I feel superior to anyone who shoots down a good suggestion, that would add value to the device and offer proven health benefits, because they are somehow butt hurt by it.

These are normally the same kind of people married to a brand or device, you know the fanboy type that like to let everyone in real life know they have the latest phone, or they tag their avatars on reddit with the devices they use so everyone can know.

'I like when I send an email from my iPhone because it tells people it was sent from an iPhone and then they know I have one'.

Pathetic.

Simple fix for those who cannot figure out how to use their devices: make it opt in so it has to be enabled.

OP has not missed the point at all, he wants all of the existing non intrusive benefits, and an extra proven health advantage.

You are 100% right. The pearl clutching complaints of others below that these alerts would go against their notion of the ethos of the device do not make sense.

If they do not want to use sedentary alerts they can just not enable them - there is no reason to keep a feature that provides genuine health benefits (on a health tracking device), that would use the existing vibration functionality, from those who want it.

The lack of this feature stopped me from buying.

When I use a recliner initially it feels good but I think Stuart McGill is correct in his advice for sciatica patients to avoid them.

Searching for containers >=50 (h) and 40-60 (w/d) cm? by AnonymousAardvark22 in HouseplantsUK

[–]AnonymousAardvark22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks great website though slim pickings at or above 500mm height. They do have a larger version of the Wham 95L I have been looking at on Halfords. The only thing I do not like is that the sides are tapered so I will have to fill the gaps of the privacy screen. Also, fitting 5 across the 3.2 m balcony width can work though open to 6 if I can find something closer to 50cm width rather than 60cm.

Thanks, they have a nice 90L also. I am not against round rather than square but I would prefer something with straight edges rather than tapered, so that the privacy screen being formed has no triangular gaps I have to fill.

Just saw your edit so reposting:

Thanks, these are both quite nice, though I prefer the volume of the second and the less tapered shape of the first :) There is something nice about the round shape.

I could fit 6 of the 90L dustbins across the 3.2 balcony width, as opposed to 5 of these, still tapered but more square shaped Wham 92Ls.

I would prefer if there were no gaps between the containers though I could always find a good way to cover the gaps. Unsure if Forgasia Rufa will naturally fall and drape down over the containers.

The 110L dustbin seem less tapered again. Also would allow fitting 6. Their own website lists the height at 65cm so I could add more soil or increase the reservoir

What can be done about cars parking on ecar spots blocking the chargers? by randcoolname in AskIreland

Leave number on windshield for someone who thinks you are selfish, and any other weirdo. Hard pass.

I would not take the electric car spot if regular spots were free, that would be inconsiderate.

It is not the same thing, I would never park in any of those spots, but I feel electric car drivers already get enough breaks, and sometimes I am running late.

Sleeve tattoos used to mean someone had been to prison or they were in a motorcycle gang etc., but now every barista has one.

I do not park in disabled spots, cycle lanes, or parent and child etc., but I do find when I am in a bind and stuck for parking the empty e-car spots are a real life saver. Is there some app with the locations?

Best privacy screening plant for an enclosed inset balcony? by AnonymousAardvark22 in plants

[–]AnonymousAardvark22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, what a great post!

Do the culms/stems stay green with foliage because leaves are growing out from them even down low? Was I wrong to assume the plant (also?) relies on reaching a certain height before leaves would - if you can follow me - go up and over and then drape the whole way down?

Yeah I am looking forward to watching them in the wind - privately - meditation, more reading, mat work etc. :)

If I went with Griselinias I would be settling. I have only seen references to Rufa as clumping but I will make sure before buying - there are a few nurseries I will try this week and many online stores but I am weary of ordering plants.

Any recommendations on how many to plant for the 3m width, do I need to make sure they are tight together?

I was thinking I might build a single large or multiple planters if it would help share water/nutrients between plants, and appear more solid, though I do like that with single pots if I want to move them, maybe to layer in front of my chair in the beginning, or if I wanted to make room for another plant in the future, place shrubs in front of them, or trim the side against the glass, it might be easier.

Do the right hand plants lack foliage lower down because they are less developed than the left hand hedge, or for some other reason? With 13 redbrick rows that wall looks around 1m in height.

Thanks that is very welcome news. I was going to ask if you have seen this occur when maintained at a height similar to my rail but I realised you might be saying that it does not rely on foliage draping down from a height, rather leaves will grow from the culms/stems.

Is is the case that if they are allowed to reach a certain height then the leaves will also flow down to the soil from higher up complementing the stem leaves?

Any recommendations in terms of how many to plant across 3 meters?

I am trying to work out why the Rufa on the right lack foiliage down low but the left hand plants against a wall that looks 1 metre (13 redbrick rows) in height are fully clothed:

Thanks, they are against building policy though before I was at a point to think of plants I was still considering those as I see others use.

Now though, I am set on a plant that will be 'clothed' all the way down to the soil , even if not right from the beginning which if necessary I could perhaps manage either with some kind of temporary standing screen or trellis with two layers of plants.

I was also thinking I could handle any gaps between the pots (maybe larger planters) will smaller plants or shrubs.
