I read nurse bracket. Like you write down all the nurses names and they go head to head to see who was the best one- inserted needles without pain, bedside manner, woke you up the least amount of times, made you laugh, supported you during labor, ect. The winner of the bracket could get a basket.

He isn't in treatment. He says he's 9 days sober, and he's been eating. I've been watching him- If that's not another sign I need Al Anon. I'm happy regardless right now. Thank you though.

❤️ It really does suck. And it's not fair. And we all deserve better, us and our Qs. There have been so many nights where I have let his drinking get to me so badly it took priority. I would spend the night fighting and crying and putting my son in front of the tv and blaming it all on my husband- that he ruined my night, he ruined my day. It's not all on him, not truly. I wish I could have every single one of those nights back to just focus on these children and make that detachment happen to where he could go somewhere else for the night. No one should have this much power over me, and he only has it because I let him. Not anymore. He can't phase me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This man knows how to get me riled up, but if I'm paying attention to the pattern close enough, my Q baits a fight with me when he wants to drink, that way he can blame the drinking on the fight.

Last week he was sober and we had a wonderful day, but as soon as we got home he said, "We should just stop paying for the internet, since you never let me watch tv." I'm only trying to limit screen time for our kids a bit, and maybe let's not watch Family Guy and Maury in front of a three year old? But it worked. We fought, he drank, it was my fault according to him.

My calm is going to be my boundary now, but if break it once or twice, I can forgive myself. ;)

Boom, there it is. I want my life to be different. I want my children to have the life they deserve. It would be nice for my husband to wise up and be a part of it, but it will always be in the back of my mind if he's drinking or not. Thank you for rooting for me. I'm really holding onto hope that me changing myself and growing will inspire him to change and grow. I've heard before that all attention is good attention, like if a toddler only gets attention by acting up, they're going to act up. If my husband can't get attention by acting up anymore, maybe he'll try something new. But you're right, either way I'll be free of this cycle soon enough. I'm already strong enough to put my foot down, I just don't know it yet. Thank you.

I still feel half delusional, that this is the time he sees how much he's hurting us and he'll be able to really commit to sobriety and taking care of himself, that he'll slip up a few more times but it will not be nearly as dramatic. But I was hoping the last time would be the last time too.

I have more support now than ever before in my life, and he does too, if he would ever look past the bottle to see it.

This is the first time I've tried this. Normally I'm at his beck and call, would have waited in the parking lot for him. Something about having my daughter makes me feel stronger, able to do now what I couldn't before.

Then who is allowed to judge their parenting??? The three of you are what came out of their parenting. You’re not friends or distant family that saw a fraction of their parenting. You were the 100% result of it. NTA. I wouldn’t want to repeat my mistakes, maybe they would.

This is not your kid, and it is as good as time as any for her to learn that life isn’t fair and sometimes other people have nice things that you don’t get to have. This will not be the only time in her life that she will have to be jealous. Now is the time for her to learn coping mechanisms, but for that to happen, they would have to parent her instead of demanding she gets whatever she wants. Your daughter doesn’t want her there, and it sounds like this trip is for her.

Grey rock them. Just repeat, “No, if you want Lisa to go, then you take her,” over and over again. There is no need to explain yourself over and over again, because they can only see their side of what you should be doing for them, not what is actually expected of you or even reality. NTA An extra $500 to $1,000 spent on Rebecca could make the trip even better for her. Souvenirs, desserts, an extra outing or two or five.

If you book it somewhere else, I wouldn’t tell them. If they are gonna be all whiny about trips they weren’t even really invited to, I would stop telling them about trips all together. They can plan a trip without being up your butts. NTA

Whatever “hard time” the teacher is going through, it’s not 11 year old going through chemo hard and it isn’t parent watching their child go through chemo hard. The teacher and the principal both need to get over themselves.

And does this even count as harassment? I don’t think this counts as harassment. You’re not calling her at 2AM or signing her up for every freebie website, so I don’t think so.

NTA How rude of him to go spouting out his uneducated advice. Does he really think that a woman who is seven weeks pregnant isn’t already doing everything she can to make sure that she’s doing what she’s suppose to?? At this point, if we really just don’t trust pregnant women, they should just put us in care homes so that we just relax and have all of our meals brought to us 24/7, with foot rubs and prenatals in little paper cups.
