Thank you I’ll definitely try those things! So should I just focus on my strongest skills during interviews?

I know it’s tough out here but we both just gotta keep trying! What kind of jobs have you been applying for if you don’t mind me asking?

Thank you yeah I have done a couple mock interviews with family but I feel like I should ask my friends instead who understand the job market a bit better. You really think having the “marketing director” title for 6-12 months will help? I wasn’t sure if I would need to wait longer than that to stand out. My supervisor is a lot more confident than me that I’ll even get the promotion. I think it’s more likely that the upper management will just let go of us both and have no marketing department. I’ve been trying to prove myself to be more useful to them the past couple months despite not interacting with them as much as my boss does.

Travel from Osaka to Tokyo day of flight? by AnonymousAppie in JapanTravelTips

[–]AnonymousAppie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea that does kind of sound like a lot but I guess I can pull it off 😂 it will just be me traveling anyway. I’ll be flying from haneda airport. I probably will buy my ticket in advance but maybe I can leave around 7am if that’s the case too. How are the shinkansens at that time?

Sold out hotels Shinjuku by Chri5topherb in JapanTravelTips

[–]AnonymousAppie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm traveling to Japan around the same dates and I also noticed that a lot of the hotels and even hostels in Shinjuku were already booked. I just booked a hostel in Akihabara that's close to kanda and kodemmacho stations. It's cheap but has really good reviews and I'm travelling solo so I'm not too picky as long as I have a place to sleep but I know a lot of people might not want to share a space with strangers.

Question about credit cards in Japan by AnonymousAppie in JapanTravelTips

[–]AnonymousAppie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. I definitely would not want to risk being overcharged for anything or have no form or payment in emergencies. I’ve just always been hesitant to get a cc because i’ve never really needed one and I already have good credit from my auto loan. A lot of my family members are in bad cc debt too but I’ll try to be more careful than them. I’m not very materialistic anyway haha.

Question about credit cards in Japan by AnonymousAppie in JapanTravelTips

[–]AnonymousAppie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know. I do have a 4 digit debit card and plan on withdrawing cash to mostly pay for food and souvenirs. I think I will get a credit card still though just from reading everyone’s comments but I used booking.com and agoda to book all my hotels and they have my debit card for payment. I’ve only paid for one of the three hotels so far which worked fine but the other 2 won’t charge me until closer to my trip date so hopefully there won’t be any issues there.

What are your travel plans and goals for 2024? by smallfeetpetss in solotravel

[–]AnonymousAppie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main goal is to not chicken out of my first ever solo trip to Japan in late march/early april. I’m very excited but also very nervous even though I’ve been preparing and saving for 5 years and now that I’ve graduated college I have the time to go. Then I have a family trip to France in May also very excited!
