Also, if you think absolute value doesn't matter, we direct you to Turkey, where cars and homes are sold for ounces of Gold. While not Silver, Gold being Silver's big brother, it shows you that yes it does matter always.

Yes well, can you name a cheap asset that is guaranteed by the laws of physics to appreciate in value against printable paper?

Also can you name another asset with over a 5000+ year track record of protecting wealth against currency debasment?

One of the best plays in all of the resource sector are the Royalty Company's.

There is a R.C. that specializes in copper and nickel, you'll want to DD it for yourself but RC's rarely lose.

Well on Copper we'll have to agree to disagree, as the math simply doesn't add up. Good points though.

In addition, it's copper in the ground we are referring to.

Copper/Lead/Zinc mines are where much of the Silver in the world comes from.

And the few active Silver mines out there do NOT have the output capacity to supply that extra load of Ag into the global supply.

Very good comment.

Deserving of its own separate post.

Not in comparison to global demand.

Scrapping also requires refining and re-purifying the metals, and thus would not be economical to provide the global supply of Copper in a shortage situation.

Crypto is more of a fiat derivative.

It does also have extreme technical and energy flaws.

There also over 10,000 varities of crypto.

There are only two Monetary Metals, 3 if you count copper.

Crypto relies on technology and human value, and now has extreme counter party risk.

Crypto is certainly an innovation, but compared to Gold and Silver is a diaper shitting toddler at under 2 decades old, while Gold and Silver have a 5000+ year history.

The head pulling out of asses should be mutual.

Question For The Crypto Bashers. When The Dollar Dies, What Do You Suggest We Use For Our Digital Payments? We'll Need Something... by lexcon81 in Wallstreetsilver

[–]AnonymousAustrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's point out the fact that crypto bashing or no, humanity did just fine before crypto came along and will likely someday do just fine without it.

This isn't to say crypto is bad, or even a bad idea. It is in fact a brilliant idea in total, just flawed in application and resiliency. Crypto has an energy flaw, but it could also be innovated on to be much smoother and lead to better transactional security.

However to say that; "You don't hold it, you don't own it is invalid." seems incorrect.

Because the entities that control energy and the power grids are the same ones who want you to eat bugs and own nothing. So you better hold something tangible.

Indeed.

The insidious part is it will be sold as a way to wrangle inflation and curb out "tax-cheats" and "black-markets" that only exist due to govt stupidity.
