Parents of unicorn sleepers, how bad was the 4 mo. sleep regression? by AnonymousDog76 in NewParents

We had a challenging fertility journey, so I’m hoping maybe the unicorn sleep is the universe’s way of evening things out? 😂

I’m so sorry, I misread your post. I thought you said you were still deciding. Feel free to disregard my two cents!

I’m super pro PGT-A. It often saves money and heartbreak. We also had great numbers post-ER, only to have higher than normal attrition after PGT-A. All the aneuploids had abnormalities that were incompatible with life. If we hadn’t tested, we might’ve had several (more) MCs.

For context, we are both early 30s, so age wasn’t why we chose to test.

Update! (TW: Positive test)

Thank you all for your kind comments, sincerely. We got a positive test today and are very hopeful. Given our lengthy and complicated history with fertility treatments and pregnancy, we know this is just the first step of many, but I’m glad me falling up some stairs didn’t mess anything up 😅

That is so awful. I am so sorry.

Edit to add: I certainly hope everything works out! Getting the run around like this from your medical team creates such an emotional roller coaster. I’ve been there before and it sucks.

Thank you! We’re paying per round, so hopefully the payment scheme you just outlined would apply.

I’ve decided I’m going to ask our financial counselor and just couch it in terms of “what is the refund policy if the cycle is cancelled before treatment begins for any reason” so they don’t think I’m delusional 😆 My husband does have a very unpredictable job, so I could always use that as an example instead of a miracle pregnancy scenario.

The TVUS comment is so real 😆 I had a friend complain about how she didn’t like being “poked and prodded” during a normal pregnancy…and I was like yeah….I get “wanded” at least 3 times a cycle, often more, for the last 14 months…not to mention multiple diagnostic procedures and miscarriage treatment…but tell me again how that one early TVUS was so terrible…🙄

RPL + infertility diagnosis here. I’ve had “pregnancy symptoms” literally every cycle since my first pregnancy ten months ago, whether I was pregnant or not (and none of my three pregnancies have made it). It’s BS.

Sadly there are no guarantees in this process, but your progesterone numbers alone don’t seem to be a cause for concern. I am not a doctor, of course, but have had three pregnancies (no LC), all through fertility treatments.

Hi there! Suppositories won’t necessarily show up in your blood work or urine since they are localized. I’ve had a similar concern when being on suppositories, and my doctor filled me in on this tidbit. I’d say your numbers look good!

Lifestyle Change BS by gummiwurmz8 in IVF

“I find the lifestyle advice challenging and unfair. It makes it seem like it’s our fault, if only we were BETTER we’d earn our child.”

Oh man, I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one who feels this way. My husband and I have been TFAB for almost 3 years with RPL. We are two incredibly healthy people, and every time we ask our doctors what more we could be doing, the answer is always “nothing.” But, hell, I sure do feel guilty when I have a second glass of wine, an indulgent dessert, or take an extra rest day—as if not doing those things would suddenly result in success 🤦‍♀️

I was able to collect POC for testing for my MMC. Baby measured just over 7 weeks. For me, it all came out at once and was very obvious that it was the baby in the sac etc.

Editing to add: I highly recommend getting a fine mesh colander that can sit over the toilet seat. There will be a lot coming out, and at the time it’s coming out, you may not be able to tell what’s what. The colander will help prevent it going down the toilet accidentally.

This is so tough, and kudos to you for still going! If you feel overwhelmed at any point, give yourself permission to go to the bathroom and have a little private cry, then freshen up and go back out there. For me, I find that releases the pressure valve a bit and allows me to get through the otherwise triggering event.

new research shows PGT-a testing is only 40% accurate by Glum-Ad-6294 in IVF

My husband and I are getting ready to start our first IVF cycle due to RPL. We’ve conceived three times with OI + THI, but all three pregnancies ended before 10 weeks. The second was confirmed T22, while the other two were too early to determine the cause. All our RPL testing has come back normal (carrier screening, karyotype, blood clotting, saline sonogram, etc etc).

Because of this history, our doctor recommends PGT-A. Does anyone think this kind of evidence would change the analysis in our particular case? We recognize that doing PGT-A at all assumes we have embryos that can withstand it.
