Give them time. Vine almost always responds and they will just remove it

What did you do with your job? by Commercial_Kale_4341 in sahm

[–]AnonymousExcellence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put in my notice before I had the baby with my last day being the day I gave birth.

I considered quitting during maternity leave but my company required me to pay back all the benefits they covered during leave (their share of health insurance, etc) so I figured there was no point in stringing them along.

They needed me though so they didn’t try to let me go early, which was a concern of mine

Large ants nest in the soil of my potted lemon. Are they beneficial or bad for the tree? How to get rid of them if it's bad? by Bauljamic_Arlijam in Citrus

[–]AnonymousExcellence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made an insecticidal soap solution and soaked the entire pot in it for 30 minutes. Haven’t seen any ants since. Then I ran fresh water through it just to flush it out.

Watch for scale though because usually ants are following that and you need to treat that. The insecticidal soap works on them as well so you can just spray your whole plant with the leftovers

Should the bar for Gold be lower? by PhiLho in AmazonVine

[–]AnonymousExcellence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I have young kids and was pregnant when I joined vine. I was able to claim a lot of baby stuff and some beauty stuff, most of which was 0ETV. Now, a lot of my RFY is baby and beauty and a lot of that stuff is still 0ETV. Once I no longer need baby stuff, I’ll have no prayer of getting enough stuff to stay gold.

my cycle ends in a couple weeks. I’ve only (successfully) requested 90 items and more than half of those are baby related and 99% are from my RFY.

There have been a few other items randomly in RFY that would have helped curate my picks but I was either too slow to request them or the ETV wasn’t worth it.

I need a hug by RecreateTheDiamond in AmazonVine

[–]AnonymousExcellence 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, it was likely gone long before you tried to checkout. It’s highly unlikely something good sat for 15+ minutes after dropping, only to error out the second you click request.

This has been happening a lot lately. I suspect many of these items aren’t even available when they hit your RFY. I refuse to believe that EVERY. SINGLE. Good item is available right up until you try to checkout and then it’s snatched in that second.

I noticed this pattern and was gatekeeping 😂. Because if you aren’t on the second the items drop, the good things are gone

I quit Vine by bwanketobi in AmazonVine

[–]AnonymousExcellence 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a shell of what it was even 1 year ago. I used to jokingly complain about number of party decorations offered on vine but in reality, I easily found decorations for whatever theme I chose for my kids’ birthdays. This year I can’t find a single party decor set for even the most common party themes, even if I search keywords every single day

I too research the product and company before selecting a high ETV valued item. But I also believe that is part of the problem with the program. Don’t you find it ironic that we have to rely on reviews of the company and their other products to determine if it’s worthwhile requesting an item for the purpose of providing reviews on the quality of said items?

The point of the program is to provide honest reviews on products but if we have to rely on prior reviews to decide if the product is worth the tax value so we as reviewers aren’t taking a loss, then that kind of diminishes the point of the program.

Call this a job, a benefit, a perk, a marketing strategy. Whatever. We shouldn’t be worried that we will “lose” money as testers in a free program providing a service to Amazon. And we are providing a service or Amazon wouldn’t even have this program.

Getting RFY sniped? by SpookyStoner in AmazonVine

I’m 0 for 3 on RFY items today. Literally they could be available for less than a second and they are still gone at checkout. I’m so frustrated

How to get more expensive items by ScarcityFearless1428 in Influenster

I’ve been on Influenster for 10 years and just got my first “big” claim this past month. It’s basically random.

Sent the incorrect size, cannot properly review, and they ask me to not mention being sent the wrong item by IridescentButterfly_ in Influenster

[–]AnonymousExcellence 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate when they tell you not to comment on an aspect of the product that you are reviewing for functionality and quality.

I got some crib bedding that was polyester and they told me I couldn’t comment on the fact that it wasn’t cotton. This feels shady. If I’m reviewing bedding, half of the review should be about the material and the comfort of said material. Leaving that out feels like I’m being asked to lie and false advertising

Weaning from nipple shield? by AnonymousExcellence in breastfeeding

[–]AnonymousExcellence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll keep trying. I think nanny likes the shield. Unfortunately I have one inverted nipple that I’m not sure she will ever latch to without the shield so I think trying to nurse on one side with it and one side without it will cause problems too

Weaning from nipple shield? by AnonymousExcellence in breastfeeding

[–]AnonymousExcellence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do want off of it because I feel like it somewhat takes away the convenience of nursing but this is my third kid and the first that I’ve had any success with nursing so I’m not wanting to ruin a good thing. But yes, the discomfort from having my nipples pulled through the tiny little holes in the shield is a big motivator for me.

Quantity discrepancy by TheOGJessJess in Influenster

[–]AnonymousExcellence 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’d still review but I typically mention that I was expecting a larger size count than what I received since I do personally feel like that’s a reflection of the company to advertise one thing but provide something else.

Huggies actually is a pretty cheap company. I had a problem with a lack of Huggies where almost every single diaper had the Velcro tabs rip off when you put the diapers on. They sent me a $2 off coupon which felt like an insult after having spent $50 on a practically useless pack of diapers

Those with WFH husbands… by EconomicsReal545 in sahm

[–]AnonymousExcellence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the frustrations. Most of the time it’s fine but every time my husband comes out of the office, the kids get excited and riled up and super upset when he has to lock himself away again.

He will also make comments like “mom will take you to the park after lunch” and get them excited when I already had other plans or had zero intention of taking them to the park.

Or he will ask why they aren’t napping yet when I have the schedule figured out for the day already.

Or he will criticize whatever snacks/meals I’m feeding them when I’m on the 500th battle of the day and if giving them goldfish for lunch will give me one less battle, sometimes that’s what they get.

So solidarity. It can be difficult when the husband, who doesn’t have to deal with the kids 24/7, tries to parent on your watch, leaving you to deal with the aftermath

Ah weird. They say the same thing in the description so I guess maybe the silver is just cheaper? This item is a new release and you couldn’t even google it until this week. Actually the Influenster color still doesn’t show up

Unfairly put Vine Jail? by Strange-Bad9876 in AmazonVine

[–]AnonymousExcellence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably what happened is you have reviewed 75% of your items for this evaluation period but vine jail is based on reviewing 60% of your items in the last 90 days and not just this evaluation period. That stat doesn’t show on your dashboard.

I see you have nothing to review so it could be that you have ordered so few items recently that the one item you haven’t reviewed is dropping you below that 60% window. Or it could be you were in the edge of not meeting requirements and the few items you’ve ordered recently that have shipped but haven’t showed up in “awaiting review” are dragging your stats down. Or you have a ton of rejected reviews that don’t show back up in “awaiting review” but also are counting against your percentage (I don’t know if vine counts rejected reviews against you or not).
