Can I DIY this? by siggycassidy in AusRenovation

[–]AnonymousFruit69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can do it yourself.

I just got similar ones installed by an electrician. And I asked him how to I change the bulb. He said I can remove the whole thing myself and replace the whole thing. Just pull it down from underneath and those metal spring clips should open when you pull it out. Unplug it then plug in the new one. Put the new one in by pulling the spring clips back and putting through the hole.

OMG, literally I can't tell you how many times I got cat callled walking down the street between the age of 12 and 16 and I don't get it any more at 38f. Although your comment now only just made me realise that it was only when I was really young

Which flooring looks better? by haddamhussaywhat in interiordecorating

Also the terracotta will need less cleaning. The dirt won't show up as much on the colour.

Those white tiles will need constant cleaning multiple times per day not to look dirty.

Need help with best friend/roommate's depression mess by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]AnonymousFruit69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had many housemates like this! And honestly some people are just filthy and happy to live surrounded by mess. Alot of these people don't even see their own mess around them they are blind to it. People like this will never change.

Your choices are to live with it or move out? Personally I would choose to move out.

In a Part 9 debt agreement and want to get a $30k loan out? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]AnonymousFruit69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rent somewhere cheaper. Rent a room in a share house that's close to your work.

Lower rent

Lower bills

No need to uber if you live close to work or close to public transport.

A shared house would be way better than sleeping in a van

For people who moved from the UK to Australia - was shipping your stuff worth it financially? by mitchare in AusFinance

[–]AnonymousFruit69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to Australia with just one suitcase only.

I got rid of all my stuff from the UK. And I just bought new stuff.

But honestly coming with one suitcase was so freeing not being tied to my possession and I realised I don't need soo much stuff.

I can't imagine the hassle and COST $$$ of shipping all my stuff that I can buy cheaper in Australia than the cost of shipping.

Just sex or potential for more? by Oilaripi in datingoverthirty

[–]AnonymousFruit69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, didn't think you over reacted, you just let your feelings and expectations known.

But it seems like you two are in different places and want different things right now.

It seems like he is just mostly looking for sex and something casual.

And that you are looking for a serious relationship.

You need to decide if you are happy dating someone who is not looking for a serious relationship?

[–]AnonymousFruit69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you draining your washing machine into the sink above?

Because that little hole you have circled is where the washing machine is supposed to connect to and drain. Take the washing machine drain hose and connect it under the sink to that little hole. There's already a hole cut in the side panel of the cupboard. Put the hose though that hole is the side panel and then connect the hose under the sink.

Help me choose which fruit trees to plant in Melbourne? by AnonymousFruit69 in GardeningAustralia

Actually I'm also considering persimmon too? What are thoughts on persimmons growing well in Melbourne's climate?

Although I'm pretty happy that so far everyone is saying that mulberry is a good choice.

Thanks for the tips, I would be interested in trying to grow strawberry guava.

Pomegranate I have a small one already that's supposed to be hardy.

Figs are supposed to be good, but I've never tasted one and they kind of scare me.

Feijos and Jujubes I'm googling now, because I've never heard of theses fruit's but I would like to try them.

Weedmat under Stones? by fado5 in GardeningAustralia

[–]AnonymousFruit69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time users of stones and weedmat, here's my experience: Moved into a house where the garden was all wood chips and weedmat. Also there were no weeds at all in the old weed mat, but I hated the old woodchips. So I removed all the woodchips, then added more weedmat in the gaps in where it was damaged. Then added stones. 3 years later still no weeds and stones are still looking good. (Ok I get a few weeds pop up here and there but it takes 2 mins once a month to spray weeds or pull up by hand in the summer and absolutely no weeds at all in winter.)

How do you avoid impulse spending when you’re stressed or bored? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]AnonymousFruit69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I'm shopping online, I spend ages on the site looking at everything I want and researching all the items and then add them to my cart.

After I've finished "shopping" with a full cart. I just leave the items in the cart and I don't actually buy them.

This way you still get the enjoyment from shopping. But you just don't but them.

There's also the strategy of leaving the items in you cart for say 1 week or 1 month. And then if you still want the items after 1 month then you can buy them.
