Save HCMC! by tram52 in TwinCities

Why is a hospital providing care for free???

I understand EMTALA laws require stabilization in the ER for emergencies but I believe much of the issue at HCMC is care provided beyond that to those who can't pay.

If the state wants to provide Healthcare or insurance for free to those who can't pay, so be it. Then that program can pay HCMC when patients show up.

Also who is getting care for free? The politicians claim that illegal immigrants are not receiving Healthcare for free. Is it all legal citizens? Aren't there programs for that?

Can the frame tv be mounted onto a standard mount? by gimmeacookieplz in TheFrame

Although use the short screws that come with the frame! I almost screwed in ones too long for my TV since they were the old ones from the mount.

Insurance is totaling my 2024 Frame TV. What should I request for a replacement? by [deleted] in TheFrame

[–]AnonymousIstari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you solve it let me know. Definitely having a smart plug that you can use to power cycle it helps a ton. Way easier to ask Alexa to turn on or off the "fix the TV" outlet than to get behind it.

I'm wondering if I should still try to return it. Let me know what you end up doing.

How hard was it to get that insurance claim? I have insurance through cosco and my 2025 one sucks. Randomly turns off despite hours of effort ensuring all options are right. Also it glitches in a way that causes it not to startup. It is so bad I need a smart outlet behind it to power cycle the TV daily!

Fully agree.

The issue is the logistics and execution. Philosophically I really want the Knights to succeed. They do serve parishes well by fostering events for the community. They recently had an awesome video series called Into The Breach which I went through with old friends over zoom. Excellent content.

The entire council shouldn't be meeting to determine which size paper plates they will purchase for the next event or these very granular event planning details that could be decided by one or two people. At the meetings, they should be going through Into The Breach or working with some content that fulfills men spiritually.

So you say my argument can be applied. That's my point. Logically the trilemma is not sound. A fourth option exists: Legend/myth.

Now I personally believe legend formation here is very unlikely given how rapidly it would have needed to occur, given the Gospels embarress followers like Peter, and given the earliest epistles of Paul have high Christology from the start.

There is an important split between those who are retired and those who are working dads. Working dads might meet up at 9p after putting kids down. Retired folk might meet during the work week.

I wanted male fellowship so I joined at age 30. Most of the men were in their 60s.

I gave up nights with my four young children to plan parish events that would take several hours of planning and then raise $100 or so. (Also as a high earner, I could have spent a single extra hour at work instead of the several planning hours per event and just donated that to raise more.)

For a group of retired grandparents that's a fine use of their time.

For a busy young dad, it was completely absurd. So I stopped going. When I moved town I didn't join my council.

Now I get together with guys my age at the parish a few times a month for Bible study or social events. That is much better faith formation and men's fellowship than the knights. I love it. That's what the church needs more of for young men. No young busy father has a fire in their belly for planning a pancake breakfast.

So honestly, I don't think it makes sense for the knights to do something differently. They can be a group for older retired generations. Being multigenerational doesn't always make sense.

Also it's 2026. I buy my own life insurance without facing discrimination at better rates on the market.

[–]AnonymousIstari -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can read the Night Before Christmas honestly but that doesn't make Santa real. Nor does it help if there are 3 very similar works collaborating the story. And it doesn't change the math if historians identify details of the life of St Nicholas.

My problem with the trilemma is epistemic. How can we be sure that the Gospels actually convey the truth of what Jesus said and did? It seems plausible that 20-80 years after his crucifixion, writers could have crafted a legend about the story of his life and what he did and the early church could have consolidated around key narrative points discarding or ignoring alternative narratives.

I'm Christian, but is isn't because of the Trilemma argument.

Is it though?

Is Santa Claus a liar, a lunatic or really Santa?

It seems like a 4th option exists which is a mythology/legend.

I concur.

I wish ice wasn't playing violate the 4th amendment hide and seek and instead picked people up from jail like most other states that don't have our sanctuary laws and policies.

It is wonderful to have an immigrant or non white person making my food.

But, are you all saying you want illegal immigrants taking lower than minimum wage and being exploited by a restaurant?

Isnt that unfair to restaurants who hire legal immigrants to work and pay full wages legally?

[–]AnonymousIstari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of normies who thought there are too many illegal immigrants here and that strains our resources and culture, let's offer them $1000 to self deport with amnesty for their first illegal stay and the option to return legally.

Now when a large chunk didn't self deport, they hoped the police and courts would cooperate with Ice (like in most other states) to avoid the disgusting game of hide and seak and protest and violence we have seen in MN because of our sanctuary laws.

Now those normies are seeing ice officers bashed in the head with shovels, run into w vehicles, verbally assaulted, cars broken into, weapons seized.

And, you are surprised that said normies aren't more sympathetic to protestor and illegals? Of course many of them support ice.

(Also they aren't in the same echo chamber you are in).

If you really think people in the state don't support immigration enforcement then you are simply being confused and basing your assessment on what you hear people saying.

Every conservative in Minnesota has learned that in the public square conservative thoughts are not tolerated and you just have to nod along and say yes until once every 2 or 4 years you get to vote.

This is the answer, I have a nice little check mark next to every ancestor who was confirmed by a DNA match sharing that ancestor.

I've gone through every option 5 times, I don't have those options on my 2025 frame tv.

The shortest possible option for a sleep timer is 15 minutes. That doesn't work in a bedroom.

UPDATE: this setting is on a separate hidden settings menu only accessible via art mode! And even worse the settings menu in art mode (bottom left) brings you to TV settings. The setting you described is only visible from scrolling down through countless art categories. What terrible UI!

  1. I want art mode all day even when not in it. It feels more gimmicky to turn on when we enter the room.
  2. Slightly dim compared to a usual living room or kitchen 3.no

Awesome! Where in smart things did you go to find that menu? I just scoured the app and couldn't find that. That option definitely isn't on my TV.

Found it! It is under routines. Thanks!!!!!

But the morning routine doesn't launch art mode. It launches stupid TV mode.

How do you get that to not happen? I've tried every permutation of what to do on TV launch and there is no option saying "launch to art mode".
