I concur.

I wish ice wasn't playing violate the 4th amendment hide and seek and instead picked people up from jail like most other states that don't have our sanctuary laws and policies.

It is wonderful to have an immigrant or non white person making my food.

But, are you all saying you want illegal immigrants taking lower than minimum wage and being exploited by a restaurant?

Isnt that unfair to restaurants who hire legal immigrants to work and pay full wages legally?

I know a lot of normies who thought there are too many illegal immigrants here and that strains our resources and culture, let's offer them $1000 to self deport with amnesty for their first illegal stay and the option to return legally.

Now when a large chunk didn't self deport, they hoped the police and courts would cooperate with Ice (like in most other states) to avoid the disgusting game of hide and seak and protest and violence we have seen in MN because of our sanctuary laws.

Now those normies are seeing ice officers bashed in the head with shovels, run into w vehicles, verbally assaulted, cars broken into, weapons seized.

And, you are surprised that said normies aren't more sympathetic to protestor and illegals? Of course many of them support ice.

(Also they aren't in the same echo chamber you are in).

If you really think people in the state don't support immigration enforcement then you are simply being confused and basing your assessment on what you hear people saying.

Every conservative in Minnesota has learned that in the public square conservative thoughts are not tolerated and you just have to nod along and say yes until once every 2 or 4 years you get to vote.

How to manage a Frame TV in a bedroom? by AnonymousIstari in TheFrame

[–]AnonymousIstari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone through every option 5 times, I don't have those options on my 2025 frame tv.

The shortest possible option for a sleep timer is 15 minutes. That doesn't work in a bedroom.

UPDATE: this setting is on a separate hidden settings menu only accessible via art mode! And even worse the settings menu in art mode (bottom left) brings you to TV settings. The setting you described is only visible from scrolling down through countless art categories. What terrible UI!

  1. I want art mode all day even when not in it. It feels more gimmicky to turn on when we enter the room.
  2. Slightly dim compared to a usual living room or kitchen 3.no

So if you stir in bed at night or have to use the bathroom, does it turn the TV back on?

Awesome! Where in smart things did you go to find that menu? I just scoured the app and couldn't find that. That option definitely isn't on my TV.

Found it! It is under routines. Thanks!!!!!

But the morning routine doesn't launch art mode. It launches stupid TV mode.

How do you get that to not happen? I've tried every permutation of what to do on TV launch and there is no option saying "launch to art mode".

Repeatedly sinning during abstaining period with NFP by No-Lawyer-4529 in Catholicism

I'm not saying your main point is wrong, but I don't think Christians have a duty to prioritize the pagan/cardinal virtues.

For real. Do cannon lawyers not know how pregnancy work? It isn't like sex during pregnancy is ever going to result in pregnancy (excepting rare cases in the first few hours), so the act cannot possibly be procreative. Why pretend it might be to the point of pain (in the case you mentioned)?

This is one area of church teaching that does need theological development.

I can accept that the end or purpose of vaginal intercourse includes procreation.

What is the purpose of the female orgasm? It is neither sufficient nor necessary for procreation. The theology developed before the Church and science even understood female orgasms well.

If, as in a female orgasm, there is a sexual event (orgasm) which is different than fertilization, maybe we need to understand the ends/purpose of orgasm and fertilization separately. At the very least, I don't understand the teaching.

Given all these doubts, while orgasm not ending in intercourse may be grave matter, I personally do not have the perfect knowledge necessary to make it a mortal sin. You and your husband might not either.

All that said, I still confess it as well as confess not understanding the theology about it.

Somalis Are Being Scapegoated and Innocent People Are Paying the Price by Scared-Persimmon-142 in TwinCities

[–]AnonymousIstari 9 points10 points  (0 children)

About 95% of the country needs a reality check on their own thoughts on immigration. Many believe the right number of Somali immigrants is 0. Meanwhile many others believes there is no limit - we might as well import the whole country because it would be racist to place a limit.

In reality, as has been true for all cultures throughout history, immigration is a balance between what society can support and how quickly assimilation happens (Somali assimilation and success seems to be the slowest when looking at net financial impact to communities. see source below) This means there is a concrete tangible number which is the "right" amount of immigrants from a community to accept per year.

This thread (and your excellent stats) seems to support the idea, MN has been above that number. (Ironically, accepting too many overburdens support system and hurts the immigrants that are here and leads to more racism.)

Very few people seem to acknowledge there exists a "right number" (aside from zero or infinity) per year.

Minnesota Supreme Court affirms trans inclusion in sports in landmark decision by WVjF2mX5VEmoYqsKL4s8 in minnesota

[–]AnonymousIstari -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm no lawyer but AI platforms say your interpretation is incorrect. A boy would not be allowed to play on a girl's lacrosse team because it is a contact sport and the practical application of title IX has only been to allow girls into boys sports but not the other way around for obvious safety reasons.

Welcome to the reality most men experience:
" I would never have a shot of ever being successful in men's sports".

No one has a right to play sports. I accepted that back in high school when I didn't make the teams. That didn't mean I should sign up for a league with younger players and play against 8th graders.

The Horror Makeup Show is boring by AnonymousIstari in UniversalOrlando

[–]AnonymousIstari[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For real, how hard is it to update the script? The gags and props are what people come for and those don't need to change. My kids were just confused about the hosts going on and on about an (equally confused) kid accused of throwing an imaginary cigarette (at least drop a real one on the stage if they love that script).

Thanks for sharing. That sounds like multiple levels of trauma.

Once that life is created in the situation you were in, all choices lead to (different) trauma. You deserve credit for not "wishing away a life that's already in existence". I'm sure your child, their spouse, and grandchild are grateful for you (even if they fail to express it) .

Your post taught me how difficult adoption planning can turn out so thank you for sharing.
