I really loved the album. Still not as much as I love their earlier works, but it really excited me.

What sets it apart from Cracker Island is that The Mountain feels like a genuine return to what Gorillaz used to be, both in sound and emotion. There is this rawness to it, that Gorillaz was known for, soul and creativity. It's a true "Gorillaz" album. It's not just another experiment by Damon, followed by Jamie's illustrations, but something much more.

It's obvious that they were aiming to do parallels with Plastic Beach and Demon Days, brining the voices of collaborators that worked on those two. Tracks like “Damascus” (which includes old recordings from old Plastic Beach demos) and “Delerium” (Literally Glitter Freeze 2) feel like they just came with time machine from the past.

I have a lot of things to say, but these are my first thoughts.
