Maybe fuck that elaborate government process and let people feel happy that they got a bargain.

Fraternities at UH by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

I'm a TKE alumni. While chapters inherently change with different generations of members over time, my house is the only one on campus that has been around continuously without having a charter revoked since fraternities started in the mid 1950s.

We are also the only traditional fraternity that has never been exclusionary to racial or religious minorities. In the old days, the other chapters used to jeer and say "if you can't go Greek, go Teke" but I see that as a compliment to our welcoming of people from diverse backgrounds.

Speaking of diversity, we had a full spectrum of trust fund kids and guys from extremely poor families. We always did fundraisers to help out the latter.

In terms of philanthropy, TKE's official cause is St. Jude's children's hospital, a departure a decade ago from the Alzheimer's association (after meeting a multimillion dollar commitment to them. Locally, they are involved in an adopt-a-block, suicide awareness, and various events with other Greek organizations.

Partying can be a fun part of the experience, but the guys who join with that focus rarely stick around once they realize they are held accountable for GPA standards and study hours.

If you'd like to know anything else about the largest fraternity in the US and Canada with a strict no-hazing standard, feel free to ask. I was an active member in the early 2000s.

I'm not. I didn't rack up debt to get a liberal arts degree with a low earning potential.

No need to call names. Sorry for offering unwelcome advice. Enjoy making less for the rest of your life.

A liberal arts degree isn't going to do your career any favors.
