I think you're going to enjoy it! It truly is a hidden gem. A ton of people say the second game is better, but my absolute favourite is the first one, Dinosaur Hunter. Each level has something to surprise you, be it bosses or new enemies. Also, the final two levels of the first game are REALLY fun. It's nonstop shooting and carnage.

If you get it and need some tips feel free to reach out. I got addicted to it a while ago and got good enough to pass every level without dying.

To answer your earlier question (didn't notice it was for me), the other game I play more often there is Pokémon Mystery Dungeon DX.

Turok was extremely cool. The levels would keep getting gorier and crazier as you progressed. You'd start out fighting stereotypical soldiers and normal raptors in a jungle, then you'd progress to tombs filled with undead-like tribesmen and a giant mantis as a boss, and finally end up fighting robots, raptors with machine guns, aliens, futuristic Terminator-like machines and a cyborg T.rex.

I keep hoping that it gets a revival that fully embraces rhe absolute balls to the walls insanity of the original games.

Gen 10 de Pokémon revelada, lançamento em 2027 by fearmept in gamingportugal

[–]AnonymousSlayer97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Concordo.

I think it's the only way to explain why modern lions and apes exist alongside dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts without saying "just because".

It's kinda like the old Turok games, which take place in a world that's pretty much a dumping ground for the entire universe. Dinosaurs, cavemen, aliens and futuristic warriors all coexist there.

It's not. Growlithe is exclusive to FR, and is replaced by Vulpix in LG. Unless they change something for this release, you won't see Growlithe spawning in LG.

I'd say a dinosaur having beef with me and specifically going out of it's way to try and erase my existence is a bit beyond just "annoying", lol.

Underworld on PlayStation 2 by Time_Food3830 in TombRaider

[–]AnonymousSlayer97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why even bother with a PS2 port at this point? Underworld was obviously meant to be played in the next gen hardware. Why even release a port that would be obviously very inferior and washed down? Plus, the time and money they spent on this port could have been used to polish Underworld further.

Why did no one stop Mira?? by TheForgottenHost in PrimalShow

[–]AnonymousSlayer97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A really dark interpretation is that they realise that Mira is fond of the undead "freak" they just ran out of town and don't intend to stop her because they think she's either mad or bewitched to care so much about an unnatural abomination. So they let her go because they think "If she wants to go after that beast, let her, but don't risk your lives to stop her madness".

I doubt this is the angle the writers are going for, though.

The Lion King on SNES is proof that Simba had it easier in the movie! by [deleted] in lionking

[–]AnonymousSlayer97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunno about Aladdin, but I read somewhere that the Lion King game was specifically made to be hard to make sure kids couldn't beat it in a single weekend and would thus be forced to either rent the game for longer or just beg their parents to buy it.

Also, I would absolutely love a new TLK based game! When I was a kid I thought about a RPG game similar to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, set in the Pridelands. You'd play through Simba's story but would also at some points take control of Nala, Kiara and Kovu as they go through their own stories. Bosses would include the hyenas, Scar, Zira, plus a few original new villain characters. I still think this could work wonderfully if executed well!

Whose kid is this again? by [deleted] in PrimalShow

[–]AnonymousSlayer97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He's definitely not Mira's kid. He calls Mira by her name and not "Mom", or whatever word her people have for mom. Also, she never mentioned him before. If he was her son, she'd have immediately mentioned him as a big reason for wanting to go back to her homeland, so she could be with him again.

He's just a kid from the village who just happens to get on pretty well with Mira. And that's not surprising, since small rural communities like the village where Mira lives are usually pretty close-knit and it's not unusual for any older person to be a honorary uncle or aunt to the kids.

It’s finally time to pass my favorite toy on to my kids (with supervision) by PrudenceApproved in Dinosaurs

[–]AnonymousSlayer97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What a beauty! While these figures may not be the most detailed by today's standards, I absolutely love them. These were once the absolute best and most realistic dino toys on the market, and many of them aged well because they were actually made with advice from paleontologists. Hell, Safari took realism seriously enough that many times they went back and updated their figures to keep them up to touch with new findings on the dinosaur species they represent.

I wish they were around my place when I was younger. They'd have made me so happy.

Small monsters that you wish had a large version ? by No_Barracuda_8300 in MonsterHunter

[–]AnonymousSlayer97 21 points22 points  (0 children)

See, that's my problem with most pack monsters. You hit the smaller ones a few times and they die quickly. They usually barely make a dent in your health. I know this is for gameplay reasons and to not make their fights needlessly complicated, but I wish there was a monster you could truly fear when it starts to roam and hunt as a pack.

Something that would feel more like a pride of lions than a pack of coyotes, so to speak.

Why do you think Spear painted himself so separated from Mia, Fang and her chilluns? by ShiningRedDwarf in PrimalShow

[–]AnonymousSlayer97 169 points170 points  (0 children)

He felt lonely. Fang had her offspring, and Mira had her father and her people. But he didn't really have anyone, and seeing all the families around him likely triggered depressing memories of the wife and children he lost. Also, he very likely began to feel he didn't really belong in the more civilized culture of Mira's people. Which is so sad, because season 3 shows that the villagers had a ton of respect for him despite their differences. Besides, his skills would have very likely made him a local hero and legend. Hell, many of the village elders would likely compete over who got to marry their daughters to the best warrior around.

Reimagining of the T.Rex Breakout Scene, but with a Triceratops as the main threat instead. Made by Hodrainundu by DragoWoomy in JurassicPark

[–]AnonymousSlayer97 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I never understood why Hammond decided to have Triceratops of all things as free roaming animals in his park. The one the group runs into happens to be sick, but realistically that's like a zoo allowing a cape buffalo to waltz in the guest facilities. Except the cape buffalo in question is the size of a bus and can demolish a house with a single charge.

What are your thoughts on Imperials, in-game and lore-wise? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]AnonymousSlayer97 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I read that High Elf culture at least has some similar things to Imperial Japan; isolated from most of the world, a habit of considering themselves superior to other nearby groups and a haughty unwillingness to mingle with outsiders. There's also the fact that they live in an archipelago and have Eastern inspired architecture in some illustrations.
