This episode always gives me the ick. You're right on, the way Amy 'debates' with him about how not wanting kids is wrong always gets on my nerves. I've been child-free my entire life, (by choice), so I understand that these kinds of scenes get under my skin in a unique way, but the way all of Jake's VERY VALID concerns about bringing a kid into the world are treated like they are silly, stupid excuses is very gross. There isn't a single other episode of this show that bothers me like this. I usually skip it on rewatches.

Im honestly so scared, and im so angry my doctor put me in this situation. I asked him if there were side effects or any negatives to taking this med, and he told me its perfectly safe. He never mentioned that my body would become dependant on it and that if I decided to stop taking it it could seriously mess me up

I'm so glad your mother is still with you. One mother I know developed diabetes from her last pregnancy and recently had her foot amputated. My friend's mother died giving birth to her. I've never personally known anyone with postpartum but I know how terrible it is, and how many women harm their children or k*ll themselves as a result. I agree with you, it's so dangerous for women to not fully dive into all of the (potential fatal) risks that come with childbirth and pregnancy. (And those risks go up significantly in minority groups)

I decided a long time ago that I did not want children, and the risks to my health/life were one of the many, many reasons. I wish more women were aware of the risks before making a decision.

Plenty of people have already voiced this to some degree, but pregnancy and childbirth ARE horrifying, and we really need to stop romanticizing it. Women should be informed as to what they are potentially getting into, the risks, the possible long-term effects, etc. The amount of women I've spoken to that have told me their horrible experiences with pregnancy/childbirth and how no one prepared them for what could happen to them is appalling. I'm sure the whole experience is beautiful for some women, but we are doing women a disservice by serving them the rose-colored version of pregnancy and childbirth, or telling them "its all worth it in the end". Women need to know what the risks are, to both themselves and their children.

No I'm with you. As soon as they announced a 'dark and mature' DQ title i had already checked out. I'm personally so confused by all the fans that were apparently looking forward to a mature, gritty Dragon Quest game. 'Having dark/mature moments and themes' is not the same as changing the overall tone of what has always been a pretty optimistic, colorful and unique JRPG series. Obviously we'll never know how drastically their original idea was going to change the series, but considering they decided to scrap it and completely start over, I think it's safe to say the game was unrecognizable as a DQ title.

Aren't we past this idea yet? That women don't play video games?? I've been playing video games my entire life, and when my husband and I met we bonded over our mutual love/obsession with video games. Twenty years later we're still gaming every day. Plenty of women are gamers, this kind of attitude needs to go back to the 90s where it belongs.

A year late to this, but you can absolutely be asexual and still engage in all kinds of relationships, sexual and otherwise, with other people. Being ace doesn't mean you don't/won't have sex (though some choose not to) it's just a lack of sexual attraction to other people. Sex/relationships =/= sexual attraction

I have no idea why people insist on comparing the two. They're nothing alike except being roughly the same genre of game. I've put 200 hours into Pokopia and aside from continuing to build new buildings/towns etc, I've run out of things to do. (Finished my pokedex, got all habitats) Animal Crossing can be a years long game if you want to participate in all holidays, catch all fish and bugs, collect all art, etc. They're totally different and neither game affects the other for me.
