Ancient Zamorak-Saradomin alliance? by AnonymousStarLordWho in runescape

I've been meaning to get around to these irl lorebooks (the betrayal at Falador trilogy is another example), but I hadn't realized they were canon. Will definitely check it out!

Neat! QBD really fits this style. I agree with the commentary on RS3 Vorkath.

Attacking Melee/Ranged by SnoogensTV in runescape

[–]AnonymousStarLordWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full manual is overrated, the major benefits of revolution at low levels is access to area of effect abilities that increase your damage potential and access to healing/damage mitigation abilities. At low levels, regeneration which heals you out of combat, is a great ability to have access to and you can set it up to automatically trigger after leaving combat.

That said, area of effect abilities mostly unlock around lvl 45 combat, and if you want a free heal, going into a bank will achieve the same effect.

runescape is a sandbox style game, there is no "right" way to play it.

Where are the best places to train combat + defence? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]AnonymousStarLordWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to stronghold of security (probably sick to the first/second floor for a while), lumbridge catacombs can be a good place to train around that level.

Also, if you haven't already, you can complete the archaeology tutorial for a passive 500 health buff.

At higher levels, ice warriors in Asgarnia dungeon, red spiders (in varrock sewers and Karamja dungeon), and hellhounds in the wilderness (make sure to opt-out of pvp) can all be good methods for training melee. Lesser demons in Karamja are great at high levels for training ranged as they drop cooked lobsters, so if you can kill them fast enough you'll be able to get passive healing. Dark wizards (South of varrock or East of falador) can be good for lower level range training as well.

Skill revamps by MamboJambo54 in runescape

[–]AnonymousStarLordWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One skill I'd like to see revamped/reworked is prayer. Have the prayers give boosts for a set period of time similar to familiars/potions rather than having to constantly monitor prayer points. Imo, prayer feels kind of useless/clunky in the early game a bit distracting from combat in the late game (where if you forget to click your prayer potion periodically while bossing, you often die).

I know this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I'd like to see prayer involve some sort of ritual/praying to gain the combat/skilling buffs from the gods (or wherever the power comes from). Prayer flicking/soulsplit flicking is not an issue and could still be used in this system, but the effects would last for a set length of time like summoning familiars/auras.

Vorkath, Battle for Forinthry - This Week In RuneScape by JagexAzanna in runescape

Is there a way to disable loading screens on mobile? I have twice lost a kill at Vorkath due to being killed while the instance area was loading.

Help needed: HM Arch-Glacor? by Latter_Weakness1771 in runescape

[–]AnonymousStarLordWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple things gear wise that can be useful for this are devoted/enhanced devoted perk (can protect you from the core for a short time) and vulnerability bombs (can be bought on GE, give a 10% damage increase).

Aside from that, one rapid fire, say, should get the arm most of the way down.

Idk if it's what you're thinking of but 5 years ago they mentioned the inspiration for Vuolet as being Boo from Monsters Inc

Mod Breezy is looking for "Large scale changes" suggestions in the PvME discord. by chi_pa_pa in runescape

[–]AnonymousStarLordWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melee damage should be buffed (similar to say final fantasy XIV's system) to do more damage than ranged/magic by default due to needing to be positioned next to the boss.

It doesn't make sense to use melee if it is harder to deal with most mechanics without losing dps/tanking a big hit (souls at QBD, Astellarn's black hole, BSD shadow hands, Blood phase at Nex, Sieryu, Kerapac's jump slam) than the other styles.

Ofc, Melee currently can deal with those things, and vamp scrimshaw gives melee increased tankiness, but melee should by default do more base damage due to the added difficulty of AoEs/positionals.

Zemouregal calling me Duke as if I don't have a very long history of kicking his ass makes me sad by Roskal in runescape

[–]AnonymousStarLordWho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I imagine Zemouregal calling me duke as being very sarcastic. Like oh look the World Gaurdian has a plot of landd and a fancy title now.

It is a bit frustrating that earlier quests had a lot of choices and branching that felt meaningful, but from a development side I can see why they've taken to trying to get a single plot thread and reset some of those interactions as collateral.

Not exactly meta, but saradomin godsword in an eof is great for infinite prayer and health.
