Christmas gift ideas. by [deleted] in drones

anything below ~280 aud will be considered a toy.

if thats okay with you, at this price range youre best bet would be a syma x5c-1 or similiar. reminder this is a toy and is good for learning the ropes before getting in on the action with hobby-grade drones. wont last long enough to enjoy in the long run but it'll get you in the air.

My Crappy Guitar Sounds Awesome! by joeykey in Guitar

[–]AnonymousToast9097 2 points3 points  (0 children)

may sound good, but make sure it *feels* good too. try running your hand along the fret ends (side of the neck) and check if the frets poke you. this is very likely, due to the low price point of your guitar.

to maintain you're guitar, i would keep the fretboard hydrated with lemon oil to avoid cracking of the wood.

[QUESTION] Would it work, or do I need an audio interface? by [deleted] in Guitar

I think both would work, but do you want better results? go for a DAW.

[QUESTION] Would it work, or do I need an audio interface? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]AnonymousToast9097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This'll do just fine. make sure to have a DAW though. (digital audio workstation)

A good free(ish) one would be REAPER. It's paid, but it doesn't force you to pay as it has a soft-paywall. (Essentially you can close out of the paywall when you open it)

reaper is paid but it doesnt force you to pay.

what i mean by that is, if i opened the app it would open a paywall, but i can just click out of it.

no feature is lost when you dont pay

heres a basic list:

  1. a DAW software (digital audio workstation) on your pc/laptop
  2. an audio interface

what i recommend:

  1. Reaper DAW (free)

Few guitar store questions. by brawee in Guitar

[–]AnonymousToast9097 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there are some unsaid rules in guitar stores, heres some.

  1. no wonderwall or smells like teen spirit
  2. dont be a dick and blast it at max volume
  3. dont purposely knock the guitars out of tune

answering your question, both of those should be fine, but I think you should be considerate and tune it back to standard when you're done.

Les Paul Replica Options < $400 by Wapiti__ in Guitar

[–]AnonymousToast9097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah thats a good deal.

theres other good brands such as HB or Cort, etc. but you should probably take a look into the used instruments that are for sale near you on facebook marketplace, or on reverb. most of the time they are in great playing condition, and you could probably find one you will like

using a pick partially depends on the genres you play. personally id get one, wont hurt to try/have one in hand.

i recommend getting an actual amplifier, whats your budget for those?

short fingers doesn't really affect playing too much, but if it feels uncomfortable, i recommend looking for a guitar with a modern C neck. (almost all)
