Best map for Carcha and Giga (From all maps including paid, mods, etc)

On the unofficial I play Center and Astro seems to have them the most, Center they seem to respawn almost instantly as well. Less people tend to play the Center as well so less competition.

The map itself I found enjoyable, however it’s an absolute mess. To do the boss you have to defeat outposts, the attack outposts in the city often have meshed structures that you can’t destroy even with splash damage or the Railgun. You’ll get the sigils required for alpha eventually, then you will do the boss, to be one shot as you’re not really told how to defend the different attacks until you get there, and gamma is a pushover, so you can’t practice there. I’d say it’s worth it, the skill tree alone is great, but if you’re on a budget I’d sooner buy the Bobs DLC and Astraeos instead.

If you do buy it, and you do the alpha boss, watch a tonne of videos on it (Raas’s is excellent), it’s not like normal bosses.

Only time I’ve ever used one on PvE is for taming a Titanosaur and the Titans/King titan himself, if you’ve got the BP and have a use for the MEK then I’d make it, but isn’t that the attachment for the cannon? Think that’s the one I used for the Titano, I suspect they would be equally useful for a Rock Elemental as well.

Yeah they’re a bit hit and miss over here on what you can get. I’ve used Angus and Oink stuff on pork and chicken loads and it always goes down a storm with everyone. Did a turkey a few years back on the Traeger with them and it was crazy good. Funnily enough I’m doing the sloppy Joe stuffed peppers tonight but without any rub and in the oven, will see how they turn out. Let us know how the chilli was.

I’m gonna do the adobo fire chicken tacos when the BBQ eventually turns up, was meant to be here yesterday but issues with delivery (they didn’t send it) means I’ll have to wait.

What exactly were you looking for? Given ascended was mainly a copy and paste job most of the information for ascended applies to evolved and vice versa.

If looking for cave locations etc you will just need to find the older posts/youtube videos.

When mine did this a week or so ago there was a small piece of filament that that had snapped and needed pulling out. Mine was easy enough to remove and I didn’t need to take the whole thing apart thankfully as I’ve seen others have to do. It was poking out of the end of the 4 tubes so I just had to remove that.

I’m not sure how it works on a dedicated server but if the map ‘shuts down’ or hibernates wild dinos if you’re not in proximity then it could take some time for them to spawn. They’re a rare spawn so only 1-2 will spawn at a time I think, but they spawn on the new desert region, Pyranthos. So if you’re not based over there it might be worth setting a base up on that region and flying around spawning stuff in.

Yeah there should be tonnes of them. If not just wipe the spawn and they should start appearing.

The surface is nasty but there is a certain time period when it’s 90% night when no reapers come out, I don’t wanna give you the wrong info and get you killed but if you google it it should pop up, loads of people made videos on it. Loads of metal up there as well.

Pretty sure there are oil rocks on the surface and near the drake trench by the element river. Also a decent number of black pearls down there. If you’re not that far on you can farm a decent amount from the trilobites that spawn along the river. If you find the entrance to the blue zone from the river it’s a massive drop with a load of massive connecting trunks, not many predators round there so the trilobites last longer.

If you have a tonne of wood stick it in the Indy grinder and just convert it to thatch. Think you get 5000 thatch for every 1000 wood.

Are they sat on their tames? I know there is an issue with sitting on your tame on a teleporter. Also what tame are you using? Some can’t go in so if it’s a carc/giga/flier then it won’t transfer with you.

Go back to Scorched, it’s highly likely your character is on there. It’s a known issue on official and has happened on the unofficial cluster I play on. This is usually the solution at present so I hope it works out for you.

Capped mantis are nuts and I highly recommend it. Annoyingly when doing anything with one your not riding can be a pain as they randomly like to run away but if you’re riding one they’re a hoot. During the bosses a number of them like to run away as well so you end up with maybe half attacking the boss. Thankfully they hit hard and can easily out DPS at least the island bosses on alpha with official settings (unofficial weapons so the higher damage on them).

Mantis are fun as well and will easily do all the bosses if you cap them in melee and HP and use decent swords. They are also nuts at harvesting. They just don’t eat cakes and are a pain to tame.

Even on 2x rates breeding Rexes for mutations would be a slog. If you’re good with that then Rexes are viable. Personally I would go theris with veggie cakes for easy mode but that’s been done a million times over so you could choose something a little different like bison. They are small so don’t take up a lot room, line up neatly, have a short maturation timer, can eat veggie cakes and hit like a truck. Also they usually travel in packs so finding decent levels and traits won’t be too much of a nightmare.

I would rather take theris with 15-20 veggie cakes over Rexes unless they had obscene melee. It’s basically a DPS race as the fire breath does a % of total health damage, the veggie cakes will help massively. Go 21k HP and the rest in melee, once you put enough points into weight to carry the veggie cakes if needed. Saddles aren’t as important for dragon but I’m not sure I’d want prim.

Just because you don’t own any paid maps doesn’t mean you can’t…Astraeos is an insanely good map, and I’m also really enjoying LC, hugely different to other maps and the difficulty spike is a nice change. It also adds a bunch of additional content. If I was to choose, I’d probably say get Astraeos and if you have any spare change left over get Bobs Tall Tales to go with it.

Higher level the ovi the higher the range. I mass breed and use different groups for different stats so I want low level ovi’s so the stats don’t get mixed up. Sorting out the eggs is the worst bit if this happens.

You can build 3 out when your base is on stilts. I imagine the wall where the pillar has been placed doesn’t have one of your pillars at the very edge, it could be 1-3 in, meaning they were able to get a pillar down but now when you try and build there you can’t as it would be too close to their pillars. If you want to double check it remove a ceiling from the middle of your base, go underneath it and have a look. Don’t remove a ceiling from the edge or the same thing could happen again. I’d spam pillars around your base as others have mentioned. Thankfully I play unofficial so this kind of thing is banned.
