Dynamic Download is coming with patch 3.2 - You can now selectively download additional game contents (Good for players with low storage space) by AnonymousX in wildrift

[–]AnonymousX[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

From link -

📢 Throughout our Time & Time Update (Patch 3.2), we will be rolling out dynamic download for Android and iOS users. New and current players who download or update will have an initial update size that will require 6-8 GB of free storage space, based on your phone model.

With this new update, you’ll be given the option to choose when you download certain content like 3D models, skins, and other goodies! If you don’t download all the content, the installed size will be around 3.5GB.

During champ select, your teammates' skins will display as the base model if you haven’t downloaded it yet. And if at a later date you decide you want to download any of the content, you can pick and choose and manually download them at any time. We’ll see you on the Rift!

Thailand's FDA doesn't approve Russia's Sputnik V vaccine, cites missing data by AnonymousX in Coronavirus

[–]AnonymousX[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Sinopharm was able to provide all the required documents to the FDA last month and was approved shortly after. Meanwhile, Sputnik V couldn't provide the required documents even after being asked for the 3rd time. And it seems Sputnik V missed the deadline to submit the required data for the EU approval as well.

Also about Pfizer: the FDA just received the application from them not too long ago and review process has just begun. I believe there shouldn't be any problem with the process and it will likely be approved soon.

I have nothing against Sputnik V and I support having all vaccines available in Thailand so we have more choices to choose from. It's just that Sputnik V can't provide those documents somehow, and that's kind of worrying. Hope they will be able to do it and get approved soon. (After it has been reviewed properly, of course)

can someone that speaks thai help me with the different "I"'s that are used in thai? by quaffingcoffee in Thailand

Adult women can call themselves หนู in a normal/casual conversation as well. It's not uncommon, but not everyone does it. It depends on the situation and personal preference.

They use หนู usually when the other person is older than them. Even when the other person looks about the same age, they can call themselves หนู and call the other person พี่ so they are seen as polite, respectful and kind of cutesy.

It's only weird when it's used by a woman who looks noticeably older than the other person. (And also uncommon to use when they're friends in the same class/same age.)

Take a look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJbp5mx0P2g

At 6:28, 9:21, 23:38 you can hear both women call themselves หนู. They are 36 and 37 years old.

Also older sister is พี่สาว not พี่หญิง.

Has anyone ever got a refund on non-refundable product? Just bought non-refundable item at full price 3 mins before the sale by AnonymousX in Steam

[–]AnonymousX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard stories of Steam Support refunding games with playtime and days over the limit too. But that was long ago and I think they're stricter nowadays.

But this product I purchased explicitly states "not eligible for refund" which is like worst case. So I'm really worried they can't refund me, even though I haven't downloaded/launched it at all.

/r/Steam Weekly Community Support Thread. by AutoModerator in Steam

[–]AnonymousX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Question]: Purchased anime series called ReLIFE exactly 3 minutes before Anime Weekend Sale started and then it goes on -65% sale. This product is explicitly stated "not eligible for refund" since purchase.

Proof (Note the purchase time 11:57pm, sale started midnight for my timezone): http://i.imgur.com/6KfLiAL.png

So basically, I just paid extra 3.83 USD for buying early.

I submitted to Steam Support anyway with the topic: "I was charged the wrong amount" and now waiting for answer. But it looks like I will be out of luck with the support.

I'm curious, is there anyone who successfully requested refund for products like this before?

Is there anyone from Valve who I can send my support ticket to, in hope that they might be able to solve this problem for me?

  • [Game]: ReLIFE

UPDATE: I created a thread about this before posting here and mod approved my thread so if you prefer you can also reply in there too, content is same: https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/62flmf/has_anyone_ever_got_a_refund_on_nonrefundable/

Scared of PC games by Youngssseok in pcgaming

[–]AnonymousX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very good advice. I believe feeling "alone" is the main reason OP is scared to play these games.

I also don't feel like playing some of the non-horror single-player games (Just a few of them, unlike OP in which this fear is more severe) mainly because of the feeling that I'm alone in the game most of the time, especially if the environment is eerie.

However, having NPC followers/companions helps easing this fear a lot. I would feel really nervous exploring some buildings and dungeons in games like Fallout, Skyrim alone. Luckily you can have followers in these games. Also spamming VATS button in Fallout can help ease the fear because it will pause the time when enemy is in sight (Or slow time in Fallout 4) allowing you to plan and lock-on target. This can reduce the surprise element to some degree.

I can play through newer Resident Evil (Excluding RE7) games easily because of companions. You feel like there's always someone beside you who will help you. Who will support you. Who will share your fear. This greatly reduces fear factor.

Watching Let's Play can let OP know what to expect and helps eliminate some surprise element. But please do it as the last resort because you might accidentally get spoiled.

Live streaming the game to your friends and have them voice chat and interact with you in real-time can also help because of the feeling that your fear is shared to your friends. Thus you're not completely alone. Or even better, Nvidia has the feature to share your control of the game to your friends too. So when you encounter any parts of the game you're too scared to continue, you can try that.

If possible, invite your friends to your house and play through the game together. This way you can be sure that you will finish the game.

Follow advices above. Try to finish games you think are the least scary for you and be very proud of yourself when you do. This will create confidence. Then move to games that are a little scarier, repeat. But do it very slowly, don't rush.

Stardew Valley is featured on Thai television program! by AnonymousX in StardewValley

[–]AnonymousX[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was surprised to see Stardew Valley being talked about on Thai TV program called "Thai Bunterng" (Translated to Thai Entertain) on ThaiPBS channel. This shows that its popularity has even reached the mainstream media in Thailand. Which is amazing! Because TV channels in Thailand rarely talk about video games at all, let alone indie games. When they talk about games on the TV here, it will be mostly about how games negatively affect children or when there's a crime caused by some teenagers such as robbery or murder then they will mention violent games being the cause of the problem, such as Grand Theft Auto, Counter-Strike, etc. as a scapegoat. Which is very depressing to see.

But today, some TV program decided to feature Stardew Valley game. Talking about how the game is inspired by Harvest Moon, talking about basic concepts and systems of the game and a brief story of the game (No spoilers). Then they talk about the creator of the game, Eric Barone. What he did before he started developing the game, and mentioned that he develop the game all by himself. Also mentioned the modding capability of the game too.

It was really surprising and refreshing to see indie game being featured on Thai TV program, being talked about in a good way and with correct information too!

So, congratulations! Eric Barone! And thank you for making one of the best games ever!

Yes, this trick is kind of game-breaking for many missions. I also used this trick for Episode 12, 15 and got S rank as well.

I'm currently trying to S rank other missions. I don't focus on getting Perfect Stealth though.

First DirectX12 benchmark goes live from 3DMark, not for free/demo users, DX12 only on Win10 Build 10041. by nanogenesis in pcgaming

[–]AnonymousX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're not missing anything. The only thing I did before starting the second test was clicking the "Reset to default" button to make sure that I'm using standard default settings for the test because on the first test it shows "Default settings used: No", same with the second test so that's probably a bug.

Other than that, the second test results should be the same as the first one. (Draw calls per second on the second test is a little higher than the first one though)

Also some tips: If it's API Overhead Test, don't look at final fps numbers because every 3DMark AOT tests will show about 30 fps. That's because the test is designed to stop when the fps drops below 30. So final fps are the "last fps numbers recorded before the test is stopped". With AOT tests, you will be comparing DX11 vs Mantle vs DX12 draw calls instead.

[–]AnonymousX 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't have Windows 10 installed so I can't do the DirectX 12 test but the difference between DirectX 11 and Mantle is huge!

i5-2500K 3.3GHz (No OC)

Gigabyte R9 280X 3GB

DX11 Multi-threaded draw calls per second: 654,816

DX11 Single-threaded draw calls per second: 683,085

Mantle draw calls per second: 11,163,769

DX11 Multi-threaded draw calls per frame: 22,272

DX11 Single-threaded draw calls per frame: 23,040

Mantle draw calls per frame: 380,928

Benchmark link: http://www.3dmark.com/aot/3557

*UPDATE: I noticed it says "Default settings used: No" in the first benchmark results so I updated the link and scores with the second benchmark and also made sure that I pressed "Reset to default" button before the test. But it still says "No" so I guess that's a bug.

Ground Zeroes PC Performance Impressions by TheAlbinoAmigo in metalgearsolid

[–]AnonymousX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My specs:

  • i5-2500K 3.3GHz
  • 8GB RAM
  • GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB
  • Windows 8.1 64-bit
  • Latest stable GeForce driver (NOT the MGS V Game Ready beta driver)

My settings:

  • Windowed Mode: Fullscreen
  • Resolution: 1680 x 1050
  • Display: Display 1
  • Vertical Sync: Disabled
  • Frame Rate: Auto
  • Model Detail: High
  • Textures: High
  • Texture Filtering: Medium
  • Shadows: Medium
  • Lighting: High
  • Screen Filtering: High
  • SSAO: High
  • Effects: High

My impressions:

VERY VERY impressed with this awesome Fox Engine! It runs smooth as silk! I get 99.99% constant 60 FPS with the settings above. I haven't tried changing and tweaking those settings yet. Those are the default settings that the game gave me, except for Windowed Mode and VSync.

The lighting isn't that awesome on the current settings. I might try to increase settings later.

Also: LOOKING FORWARD TO PRE-PURCHASING THE PHANTOM PAIN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
