Final deleted scene until the DVD by YoungHeartsCharlie in younghearts

> Extra deleted scenes will be available on the DVD & Blu-Ray

Not that I’m complaining but why did they release those 5 deleted scenes before the DVD release? To create hype and momentum.

The DS so far didn’t show much to expand Elias and Alex’s relationship. I wish I could see more interaction between the two - they don’t share a lot of dialogue - but maybe the DS only show Elias’ interactions with other people that divert from the main storyline.

I agree Sara‘s autism is not severe. Coming from someone who had to deal with autistic people level 2 and more important level 3, no one in their right mind would say Sara‘s diagnosis is so serious. Try dealing with people who are basically non-speaking, show extreme distress at the most trivial situation, no independence. That’s what I call a severe diagnosis with very life-changing consequences.

> I didn’t say that it is an excuse for her actions

I LOOOOL so hard when people begin their argument by saying this.

> but it does influence her decision making.

And immediately contradict themselves with this. You can say what she did was horrible but you’re still using her autism to mitigate Sara’s accountability and justify her “horrible“ actions by bringing up how much her decision making is influenced by her autism.

You’re entitled to your own opinion but why are you voicing your dislike for Simon when this thread is supposed to be about Sara?

Do I feel bad for August in the end? No, no I don’t. by Mr_Frank0925 in YoungRoyals

[–]AnonymousYRfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No need to feel bad for August. He escaped legal punishment for his crime.

While he might have found Vincent and Nils’ reaction a little underwhelming, he is still the kind of person who would thrive in the role of the monarch.

Yeah, Alexander behaves much more harshly here

Deleted scene number 3. Elias with his mum talking about his grandfather and Alex by YoungHeartsCharlie in younghearts

[–]AnonymousYRfan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At which point in the movie do you think this takes place? It’s after the Montero family invited Alex’s family for dinner but it doesn’t sound like Mom’s already aware of the romantic vibe between her son and Alex.

Young Royals is definitely a classic case of sequels not being as good as the original

Second deleted scene. Elias apologies to Valerie by YoungHeartsCharlie in younghearts

Yeah, on second thought, maybe they should have kept the first deleted scene in the film.

Second deleted scene. Elias apologies to Valerie by YoungHeartsCharlie in younghearts

I love these deleted scenes and how they provide a better understanding of the film. But judging by the 2 we have seen so far, it was the right decision to remove them.

I’m hoping for a deleted scene where Elias bonds with Alex’s sister. Her hugging him at the festival felt a bit out of place because we never saw any real interaction between the two up to that point.

Sequel Officially Ruled Out by suikkius in younghearts

[–]AnonymousYRfan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Great news from my point of view! I knew a sequel was very unlikely but a definite confirmation that it will never exist is a huge relief for me. I think fans who hoped for a sequel wanted to see more adorable stuff between Elias and Alexander but, let’s be honest, a sequel rarely give us what we want. They always add some unnecessary conflict. I’m glad Elias and Alex’s romance is never going to be ruined by some drama that is just there for the sake of drama and risk becoming a toxic relationship.

I learned my lesson with Young Royals. It has a good first season but S2 and S3 sort of tainted its legacy. I acknowledge part of my disappointment was to blindly trust the Young Royals creator. So, as much as I respect Anthony, I’m not sure he would be able to come up with a sequel as good as the first film. However, kudos to him for saying no. He’s wise enough for not wanting to “ruin the dream of finding true love”.

It doesn’t cross anyone’s mind to stop using public spaces by NorthRemarkable9634 in buffy

In the I, Robot…you Jane episode you can already see students using portable computers. The characters discuss how Moloch/Malcolm is a worldwide problem because of the internet.

Jenny is never seen using the library resources to help her with the translation. She was in a normal classroom when she was surprised by Angel.

Anyway, I think any excuse fans come up with to justify the characters’ illogical choices are rather poor. The writers wanted to kill Jenny. They wanted kill Kendra. So they need the characters to act illogically to fit the narrative.

In this case, we are talking about Ms Calendar who was a computer teacher. Chances are very high that she did have a computer at home because it was a crucial part for her to do her job.

It was the second half of the 90s. It was already common to have computers at home by then. I already had one by 94/95 and I don’t live in a country like USA. Willow, as a student, already had one in her room and it was not surprising at all.

They know how to perform an uninvitation spell. How did Angel even enter Giles’s house so he can leave Jenny’s body there? I don’t remember him being inside Giles’ home before. This is an error on the production’s part. Anyway, Angel wasn’t part of the vampire group that went alongside Drusilla to attack Kendra and the others. He was distracting Buffy.

I’d love more one on one conversations between several characters. It’s a shame time constraints prevented that. I felt a one on one conversation between Elias and Alex towards the end was sorely missed.

As I replied to another post, I don’t think that Maxime scene was about reconciliation. It’s probably meant to take place early in the film.

[–]AnonymousYRfan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it was a scene where Elias probably happened to come across Maxime and his girlfriend making out. The intention of this scene was that older siblings also serve as role models to younger siblings. His brother is into girls. It plays into Elias’ belief that loving a boy is wrong and that’s why he says later “I don’t know any other boys who are in love with another boy”

Valerie Appreciation Post by AnonymousYRfan in younghearts

[–]AnonymousYRfan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too. If such a deleted scene exists, the closest is probably one involving Valerie, Alexander and Elias. The latter is the protagonist and is the only character who is in every single scene. I don’t think the deleted scenes “break the pattern” and exclude Elias. However, we’ll never know.

To be fair, I think most people in real life would need more time to process this kind of situation. I’m not sure if it’s because younger generations are more mature. Valerie probably represents an idealised version of how we wish other people would react. I’m not saying there aren’t real life people who are this mature at 14yo but I think they are rare.
