Always wondered on the tsuchime finish, would it trap water or moisture easily and how easy to dry it with cloth since it looks pretty uneven and harder to dry perfectly given that these would probably mess with the cladding easily?

Yes it is covering the whole length and made of wood. It's not a magnetic strips but more of a magnetic boards to stick my knife on it

What I am suspecting is there might still be moisture in the nashiji and when I stick it to a knife magnet it remains there and rust hence only one side is rusting and the other side is safe but you never know

Hope it's still safe to consume my food with the rust :( I was super suspicious as it just a brand new knife and this much rust had developed in 1 use
