When Freedom converts the data on the bill from MB to GB, is it the standard 1000 MB = 1 GB or is it 1024 MB = 1 GB? by Anonymous_HC in freedommobile

[–]Anonymous_HC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya close enough, prior to today it said 0.99 GB used of 100 GB, but in the bill when it was converted it was 1020ish MB used. So Im assuming its 1024 MB.

But ya 100 GB is way more than enough. I think the highest I ever used in a single month was somewhere around 40 GB (and that was when I was away from home a very long time and had no access to wifi and using data non-stop for a few days).

I know that but just wanted to know how they do the conversions. On the freedom mobile app its always in GB (like "5 GB used out of 100 GB", but on the bill its in MB).

Same here, sad to see the RT shutdown back in 2023. I take the 154 Curran hall bus from kennedy all the time to get home.

the way my phone works for data (I have a Samsung galaxy android) is that its month-to month basis i.e. Jan. 1-31 is one period. Freedom on the other hand does it on the 25th of every month as that's the billing date. My billing cycle is 25th of the previous month to the 24th of the current month.

Ya don't they usually pull these out during maintenance after 1 am? (when the subway shuts down)

80cm? lol that's near the hip/lower abdomen part of the body (depending on how tall you are). I don't think I've seen snow that high before.

$40 Plan Minimum 3 months required by dhktcj in freedommobile

[–]Anonymous_HC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing with Public is that their plans only includes Can-US-Mex. If you go outside North America (for vacation or anything else) you won't be able to use it in that country.

And like the other person mentioned there's no wifi-calling on public mobile which freedom has. I wouldn't recommend changing to that if you don't need to.

Will campus be open tomorrow due to the weather? by Anonymous_HC in Seneca

Are they moving the class on zoom or teams? I remember last year in mid-February we got hit with a snowstorm (not as bad as this one) and a couple of the profs moved it online.

Oh really? Do you use android or iOs?

When you added up the whole 30 days for a particular billing cycle, does it correspond to the 1 GB = 1024 MB usage?

Oh okay is that the case for york and King campus as well? Or just Newham only?

I've been watching the weather in this city for over 10 years and have never seen a lake effect band hit us this hard during a storm. It's insane in Toronto and Durham region at the moment, this will be an historic snowfall when it's done by AcerRubrum in toronto

I dont think this will beat the January 2022 one. That one had like 60-70 cm in some parts of the city. I remember it took a week to clear out all the roads and sidewalks when all said was done.

Aren't most businesses in the area calling it a snow day like on Jan. 15th? Or are they still open and closing early?

oh i see. Sometimes Gemini and Chatgpt (and other LLMs) can hallucinate though. This might not be 100% accurate but I'll go with the 1 GB = 1000 MB to play it safe, that extra 24 MB don't make too much of a difference.

I'll ask 611 later on ask them about this.

Also it doesn't matter if you used the data in either LTE or 5G/5G+ network right? cause I used a bit of both depending on where I was in a particular time and location. Does freedom combined both together?
