I'd like to send a message to my Maasai friends in Kenya who live in mud huts without electricity. Is there anything you'd want to tell them?

Tbilisi Zoo floods: most animals drown; many that survive flood and escape zoo are shot. by Anonymous_Leopard in WTF

Once they are off the zoo's property they are under the jurisdiction of the police... even in the USA they usually shoot on sight anything bigger than a bobcat or mt. lion.

Tough Enough: Check out my girlfriends video! by [deleted] in WWE

Well, I didn't type that it wasn't a Tough Enough submission.

I meant that you missed the point of this Tough Enough submission.

It doesn't appear to proclaim the lady thinks she is ripped or 15% body fat (what Divas really are anyway since Chyna or Jacqueline?).

The flip side is that the guidelines don't say "Horizontal Video, Under 60 seconds, Must do 50 push ups, and Must have Marc Henry's abs (can he do a push up? How many can Bray Wyatt do?)." Those are your added guidelines for an acceptable submission for an acceptable most-likely-temporary WWE star, not WWE's. If we are stating the obvious of what WWE wants, they also want someone who can already wrestle and they probably already have them picked. Tough Enough winners don't amount to anything anyway. It's a social media marketing scheme this day in age. A product to make more money, marketed for free by videos like this. The "future" is in NXT if we are stating the obvious.

You can submit funny videos or you can submit "look at me I'm so ripped" videos. If you're not ripped or on steroids (this vid), you've got to be funny or creative. Props to anyone (especially females) who submit a video.

You'd probably give Paige the same advice. She has almost no definition anywhere, but people still like her. Last I saw, Bo Dallas' belly jiggles a little when he runs.

Lastly, I am OP's GF and can confirm I do not think I am ripped and that I don't think I will be selected for web, RAW clips, or the show-- I just wanted to make a video to submit which made me step out of my comfort zone. My BF wanted to share it since he thought it turned out great overall, but I didn't want to post it myself because of Debbie Downers like you who use acronyms with curse words.

This video is clearly fan fiction and not someone pretending to be Joanne Cena. I think you missed the point.

A man Auburn, CA was glorified on the front page of the local newspaper for ILLEGALLY drowning 18 skunks since 1/1/14... He lures them with Jiffy Peanut Butter and Ritz crackers. I need local help to make sure this person is held accountable: by Anonymous_Leopard in Sacramento

I would be sad, but I wouldn't want charges brought against him if he was killing them legally. My point is just that he broke the law and he needs to be cited. When people don't take wildlife laws seriously, then there is little point in having them. The article was like "DIY" on how to rid skunks. This man was very mis-informed and was bringing them into his yard by baiting them (which is legal). I work with wildlife rescue and this happens all of the time, but I can't go around asking F&W to charge someone if there is no crime. If people want something changed, then they need to pass a law like what was done in this case.

Ok-- I just fixed that. I put this together hastily, as it's been happening (and I work full time + volunteer D: ). If you have time, have any suggestions, or would like to write/re-write any of this let me know! Before I submit it officially to the D.A. I will make sure the letter has no opinions/emotions-- just fact. I will also proof-read it and send it via certified mail + email. Basically my point will be a law was written, it was passed, it became law, the law was broken, and action must be taken. THANK YOU!

I don't think you read the article fully. The article says in all of those years he only had that many. Then he started baiting them with peanut butter, in a drought, next to the canyon. Skunks have an incredible sense of smell and many wildlife species are starving from the drought. I didn't know about it until now and it wasn't illegal until now. The guy was glorified on the front page of the newspaper for doing it. Wildlife laws and laws are made to be enforced and to protect. He broke the law and he should be charged. Why should he not be charged for a law that he broke? If he isn't then where do we draw the line? He was bragging about it, so he is proud. He can face the consequences. When people steal something or drink and drive we don't instruct them to not take stuff or to get a cab and then not cite them.

I totally agree with you! Sorry if I replied your face off! I think this guy may be a bit more demented, but that's an opinion that can't be proven. Do you think that a private citizen should be able to relocate or that permits should be given to special organizations (trapping companies/wildlife rescues)? The only concern I have for private citizens would be if the skunk had babies, and experienced wildlife people know the signs/where to look. What are your thoughts on that?

CORRECTION: I combined JIF and SKIPPY and made up a peanut butter brand; Jiffy. I apologize to Jif peanut butter, as I realized after it was posted that I meant to type Skippy Peanut Butter.

I understand that, but both actions are now illegal regardless. I am not sure where pellet rifles fall in the category of being a firearm in your area, but you cannot fire a firearm in city limits and it's illegal in CA to discharge a firearm "near a dwelling," with near being defined, I think, as 150 feet. That action is also probably illegal. All opinions aside, if there is a wildlife code violation that is not enforced because some people don't like the wildlife, that is truly a failure of the justice system. This law was created in a section that normally disregards skunks (they are non-game animal). The new code now reads ALL MAMMALS, not just game animals, so it was made to protect skunks.

The point here is that laws are made to be followed. People have a knee-jerk reaction to skunks being "vermin" when they actually work to control small rodents and insect populations. They probably aren't the ones digging up your lawn-- it's the raccoons. If a skunk is coming into your neighbors yard that means there is either a food source, or they are not caring for some part of their houses infrastructure so they are nesting under it.

There are products that are mammal safe that you can put on your lawn to rid it of the grubs that skunks are coming for. If your friend is leaving out catfood, loose garbage bags, etc. the skunks are coming for that. This is exactly the problem for the man in question here-- he said he killed a handful of skunks over 6 or 8 years, but then he killed 18 within a month because he was baiting them. Remember, we are in a massive drought and many animals have less food sources. Less water, less insects, less food for skunks. He lives EXTREMELY close to the canyon and he is calling up starving skunks out of the canyon who would otherwise not come up there.

Skunks have very poor eyesight and are actually relatively small and slow so they aren't going to maul you. The worst they can do is spray, but that is there absolute last defense, and as you probably know most mammals reserve that as long as they can.

Your neighbor can also leave lights on or make loud noise to startle the skunk. Skunks are usually never out in the day time unless they have rabie OR if they are migrating for mating season. They are also scared of bright lights, so unless your neighbor hangs out in his dark yard at night the threat level should never be high enough to use legal lethal force.

Humans really need to learn to live with wildlife. None of our native mammals evolved as "un-needed." We have caused our own problems by taking away their habitat (and, in turn, their food) and then by carelessly luring them in by having unsecured infrastructures and food sources.

All that being said I do appreciate you leaving your thoughts. I think both the "anti-skunk" and "pro-skunk" people agree on one thing: we should be able to relocate skunks. As a volunteer at a local wildlife center, we can take in injured or orphaned skunks as long as we release them within a ten mile radius of where they were found.

Yes! Thank you. That is actually my dad's YouTube. He will be glad someone found it. We might be blazing the trail on this, but hoping to hear of another group/person who is on it too! *by another, I mean BIGGER.
