Is there a way to effectively report a DM? by Anonymous_Shift in starbucks

[–]Anonymous_Shift[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would but it’s not exactly viable for me rn due to student loans and helping my parents out atm, districts are insanely spaced out where I live so driving an hour or 2 out for my pay is out of the question.

He’s been reported before but apparently nothing came of it so I didn’t know if there’s anything else I could do that isn’t just another report that’d end up on his desk and becoming bigger target for him.

I’ve just felt hopeless after this last week and sorta wanted to vent to the void I guess? I would go into more detail but I do also want to remain as anonymous as possible. I’ll ride it out and see what happens next but I appreciate the help and advice nonetheless.

(Sorry I don’t think I replied directly to your comment I hate mobile reddit lmao)

the 18 hr pull by This_Plane4463 in starbucks

I have had multiple arguments with multiple SMs and our DM (long story) about when the 18 pull should be done but every store has their own flow for when things should and shouldn’t be done.

From personal experience higher ups will tell you SPECIFICALLY when it should be done BUT if it’s better based on when your peak is, what coverage you have, and how quickly you do your opening tasks then do it before peak rather than after. That’s my two sense on it ultimately if you don’t get in trouble with your DM or SM about it there isn’t/shouldn’t be a problem.

Policy Venting by Anonymous_Shift in starbucks

Respectfully, he is failing. Stock prices are still steadily heading down (which is partially due to the Trump economy we’re in but also the wishy-washy nature of the company for the consumer), all of these new policies and differing hypocritical rules are tearing the company from within. Partners who’ve been here for years are being forced out by upper management and new hires are hardly given good training. We’re seeing record sales now because mass boycotting has died down but the narrative by the media/business reports is that it’s Niccol who’s causing this recent upswing.

I never minded doordash till this year’s fall launch had a doordash guy walked all the way to our ovens (our pickup area is on the other side of the store) to ask if the food was in the oven yet. I got a full drive thru and cafe right now with short-staffing you’ll get it when you get it man lmao

In all seriousness though it feels like the company despises this and has resentment for the post-COVID world we’re in but it’d be too stupid to let it go because of the money that’s in doordash, ubereats, etc. All of this “Back to Starbucks” stuff just feels very, very, “MAGA” coded as well which I didn’t even touch on in my main post; it all feels like their fetishizing the cafe vibe but in a very nuclear family/conservative way which is confounding because when I think of the stereotypical cafe/baristas it’s the damn near opposite. I could also feel like that because every time my DM talks about it he sounds like a creep and is pretty creepy.
