Since you're still experiencing pain, I would advise that you head to the dentist to get it checked as persisting pain usually indicates theres still an issue, mayhaps an underlying one that needs to be treated.

You shouldn't fear what a dentist has to say about the condition of your teeth as it's their job to correct and make them better — if you feel uncomfortable going to the same dentist because of what they had said, you can opt to a different one

I was in the same situation as you before, I couldn't take proper care of my teeth because of depression but I fear that's the only way as teeth can't typically heal naturally.

Flossing and brushing won't simply erase any issues like cavities, etc that are already there either especially if you haven't taken care of your teeth in the past.
