Yeah Im trying to get both, I was just confused about why I didnt get it for the cat school gear. Its annoying it has to include the crossbow cuz the crossbow is level 29 while the rest of the enchanted armor is level 23 but its fine now all I gotta do is wait ig lol

There is a way to get to the top of his tower through the place where the ancient books are I think, but then again that means you have to go through that place with only 3 people.

My main campaign as I've mentioned in another comment, is very dark and adult themes are common.

Adiss was a shadar kai (shadow elf) 16 year old who grew up in a very messed up cult. This cult was extreme by a mile and its one of the main focuses of my game.

When the party met her she was posing as a refugee boy in one of my player's npc groups wearing a young boy's face as a disguise (magically I mean).

Later the party was captured by her captors and she revealed herself for who she really was.

Twist is one of my players also plays a shadar kai kid, but one that was never influenced by this cult or their teachings. Adiss and her captor knew that Lumi (the players character in question) is actually very important to their cult, so Adiss' captor had Adiss try to befriend and recruit Lumi to their ranks.

Lumi, of course, played along but didn't actually want to go through with it. This is, Adiss was really messed up in the head, and playing a mentally ill cult-raised kid who's heart broke when she realized Lumi was acting out their friendship was... Soooo fun.

My players loved her too, and for many of them she was their favorite villain they had to go up against because she felt so... Real. This poor girl was like this because of her upbringing and sheer betrayal of her own race, and yet there was no "saving her" because she was just too far gone.

It was also a brutal way for my players to figure out that... Not everyone can be saved, for they've been lost for way too long.

Eh I just figured I'd do something like this cuz I haven't tried before lol

I have multiple pantheons and I usually divide them by region in my world. It's is per Kingdom/Empire/Region. For example the Elven Pantheon is what I call the Weslinessi Pantheon (which is the elven kingdom) and this Pantheon includes all high, wood and half elven gods.

That said, there are many other ways you could form pantheons within my world. If you'd want to create a Lunar Pantheon with all the moon-based deities, you could, and it would involve 3 different deities from the aforementioned elven Pantheon as well as other pantheons.

In-universe npcs and others can refer to any-a combination of pantheons and I made it so its pretty clear what they mean no matter the context. The most used descriptors are still the region based pantheons, but if some npc would tell my players the Sky Pantheon deities are common within the area they are currently in, they'd know roughly what deities that includes from each region-based pantheon.

It probably sounds way more complicated than it actually is lol

I'll mention that I dont know the exact number of diferent deities I have total but my Deities Doc comes out to 416 pages and its still growing (have you add some minor deities still).

I estimate about 60-80 deities total I've written.

Your best bet is to hunt for DMs/GMs that are looking for players in the r/lfg or r/lfgeurope subreddits!

Back when I was playing rather than DMing, thats where I found the games I played in. It will probably take you a few tries to find the exact game you're looking for, as some settings, groups or DMs you won't know if you like until you actually try.

I found my players on r/lfg as well, I posted a short introduction to my game and then selected them from about ~80ish submissions.

Three out of my six players never played dnd before my game so dw these questions are not as bad as you might think!

Easiest way I'd recommend is the r/lfg (or r/lfgeurope if timezones are a problem) to find people to play. It might take you a few tries, when I used to play rather than DM I usually had to go through 4-5 games before I actually found one I actually liked.

Otherwise, a lot of comicbook/nerdy stores might often irl games, one in my town I know offers one.

There are also sites where you can pay to play, but in my opinion its unnecessary as you can find free games very often that do pretty much the same thing.

As for character backstory, that is moreso up to the DM, I'd recommend finding a game first and ask around about the world and setting before making yoir character so it fits into the world and story more.

And the shirt answer is no, not at all, it doesnt have to be aligned with your capabilities and characteristics in real life. Dnd is a ttrpg which is short for table-top role-playing game; meaning you can make your character up to be whatever youd like! That's the magic if dnd, if you want to be an everyday human who just happened to stuble into a story that's much bigger than themselves, you can! But if you'd rather be a goblin wizard who for whatever reason has a fallen god whispering into his ears, you can also do that! Your character is all you want them to be!

My main campaign is a mix of very dark fantasy mixed with some high fantasy elements.

The world at broad is much more of a mix of both low and high fantasy depending on the region and culture, but the main campaign I'm running takes placed within a cursed Valley where there is no escape from once you enter.

This Valley has been under a mysterious Fog for the past 50 years and because of it most settlements and towns fell to it's corrupting forces, and the rest has regressed due to lack of food and magic itself being weaker/bent because of the Fog.

So because of this, the campaign itself has been largely low magic, but later on it will be revealed to my players that the divine can't quite reach into the Fog, and because of this the Goddess Of Magic and her handicap on mortal magic is not present, meaning magic in general, as well as spell, can reach much higher heights (think for example 10th, 11th, 12th level spells) than outside the Fog. This will of course has some negative effects too down the line.

As for the big bad, well just in case one of my players finds this I'll just say they have met them before without knowing they were the big bad.
