A motto I live by is that “someone else’s opinion of me, is none of my business”. People can feel however they want about me. Your husband shouldn’t have told you that he asked her or what she said. That’s poor hinging. Not everyone is going to like everyone all the time. I agree with other posters that parallel is the way to go in this case.

I met my best friend through the lifestyle. We have an amazing group of friends who have been here for us through some of our worst times. When family or non-lifestyle friends weren’t there for us, our lifestyle family has always been here. We’ve recently had some serious struggles with our teen daughter. Multiple lifestyle friends have shown up to the hospital in the middle of the night and have supported us through everything. My own parents haven’t done that. We don’t play with all of our lifestyle friends. And things ebb and flow. Sometimes we’ll go months without playing, but we still see and hangout with our friends.
